why, because he can REALLY shoot the ball and he's 6-10 with a high IQ. Certainly not the best defender, but his skill of shooting at a high % and his size is VERY worthy and valuable for the LLE, much more so than Diop. I forgot about Bonner, but he is not signed. If we are going to use the LLE, we could use a guy who has size who can really shoot it off the bench. The guy is a weapon off the bench

I totally agree with you. Having seen Matt Bonner play a few times I really like what he brings with his shooting. I don't know if he can do anything else but that guy is straight money!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

You're right that we could use Bonner's shooting skills. Still, I don't see a place for him in the rotation.

And not only is he not the best defender-- recent ratings have him as the WORST PF defender in the entire NBA last season, by significant margin (http://82games.com/rosenbaum3.htm). Given that's he's among the worst PF defenders in the entire league and we already have a frontcourt glut, there's no way this guy would ever get any PT under Larry Brown. No way.

I'm still iffy on Diop, but I guess it might be worth taking a chance. If he could turn into a consistent shot blocker he'd be pretty valuable for just the LLE.

I don't think he'd sign for the LLE, I think that many teams would probably want him in their rotation
