I had my surgery in April to repair a fully torn ACL.

Let me say now that I'm just starting to feel my Quads! Blowing out your knees ain't no joke. I'm not a professional ball player but I work out at least 2-3 times a week on my legs. That would be 4 months with no real contraction of the quad muscle in my leg. My good leg is twice the size and strength of the bad leg......that's after 4 months. I still have a good 2-3 months before I can start doing high impact stuff.

Houston never gave his legs the proper time to heal and may have destroyed his ability to be close to the player he was because of it.

I want to play basketball so bad and I'm not even getting paid.....nor will I ever have the chance to play pro. Pride and the desire to compete is a bitch.

I vow to touch rim by January!!! Chances are slim but so are Houstons.

Hi Enyspree,

I remember you had knee trouble, best of luck in your recovery. I just had exploratory surgery last week to see how badly botched my microfracture was, so I feel your pain...and Houston's, Webber's, Et al. Most folks don't realize how grueling and frustrating the rehab process is. Your knee just doesn't feel right.
Houston never gave his legs the proper time to heal and may have destroyed his ability to be close to the player he was because of it.

I'd say this is a likelihood. Not getting another surgery (Something besides microfracture, which kind of sucks.) was a bad move too.

Good luck with your healing Bro...

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

good luck man. you really helped to put into perspective how long this process takes. I hope I never blow my knees out. I'd probably gain a million pounds.

I gained 10 pounds since the time I hurt myself. I looked at the scale and that mofo was tickling 200lbs!!!! I was like hell no. Not yet! I'm only 26. I got some good years ahead of me and I need to get into shape.

Dood.....I'm on a diet and full body work out routine now. I haven't lost any weight but I'm getting stronger.......especially my leg.

Hey just tonight my son was messing with me like he always does becasue I can't chase after him. Today I suprised him and chased his ass about half a block and caught him! My knee I felt a slight pull but I was fine. I'm getting there.

Besides......I gotta rep for Brooklyn!!!! I gotta get my handle back and take doods off the dribble......it's only right.

Best of you luck to you EnySpree. I play in a local basketball league here in NJ and our best player just partially tore his ACL coming down from blocking a shot. The block was nasty but the end result sucked. Best of luck to you in your recovery and I hope you not only touch the rim but start throwing down again.

I was hoping to get down with a local league. I was trying to get into shape to play in some summer tourneys.....and then maybe do Basketball City or WBL in the winter.

I'll make another update thread in a few weeks.....I should be running by then.
