From Insider:

Q: I think the Suns definitely need a power forward with their No. 9 pick. Both Nene Hilario and Amare Stoudemire have been in for workouts and seem like good fits. My question is, which one is better? -- Cindy, Flagstaff, Ariz.

FORD: Nene or Stoudemire? This is what the NBA draft has come to. Both players have worked out well and have a lot similarities. They already have NBA bodies, they both love contact in the paint, rebound, block shots and run the floor. And, they're both very raw. With that said, the general consensus right now is that Hilario is a few notches above Stoudemire for several reasons. One, the competition Hilario has faced in Brazil is much stiffer than the high school kids Stoudemire has been beating up on. Second, Hilario is much more polished on the offensive end than Stoudemire. While neither player can shoot the lights out, Hilario has a decent mid-range jumper and a number of low-post moves. Stoudemire can dunk. Finally, Nene has measured 6-foot-11 1/4 in shoes with a 7-foot-4 wingspan. Given his ability to play with his back to the basket, several teams I talked to said it's a good possibility that Nene could be a center in the league. He's got really wide shoulders and a frame that could add another 25 or 30 pounds to it. If that becomes a consensus, he won't be around when Phoenix picks at No. 9. Stoudemire will be, but if Nene and Chris Wilcox are both off the board, I think Phoenix will draft Nikoloz Tskitishvili. Tskitishvili lacks the pro body of Nene and Stoudemire, but has the potential to be a Dirk Nowitzki-like four. How can you pass on that?

Give Phx kurt Thomas and Eisley for their #9 pick (we can pick skeeta with that) and we'll take penny...

I dont think Phoenix would do that trade but as much as i hate to say this if we sweeten the pot with Spree then maybe they would do it? Spree, Kurt, and Eisley for Penny and their #9. That would give them the decent backup point that they need, the consistant scoring sg to compliment with Starbury and Marion, and the blue collar pf who isnt afraid to do the dirty work and could also guard centers. Is that to much to give up? What do you guys think? With those two picks we could get Nene or Wilcox or even both or the next player left on the board.

I personally think thats an excellent trade, but we should try to get their second round pick...plus it helps us out with the cap... i think

Can you imagine a lineup after the two picks and i say play them now that is the only way players develope.

C Nene
PF Camby
SF J Jeffries
SG Houston
PG Logan under Action Jax tutelage

Penny when healthy is still a decent player. He gives you a little bit of flexibility because you can run a big lineup and run him at the point and he could also play two or three if you want to run an go small. See the way I look at is that obviously we have nothing to lose and everthing to gain we could do these trades bring in the young guys let them play and develope a chemistry and cut our rebuilding time in half. The baskeball next year may not be better but I am quite sure it will more exciting ala LA Clippers. Worst come to worst we get a lotto pick again next year by then we will be on the ball. Can you feel me?

Thomas and Eisley for the 9th would be great, but Sprewell just doesn't make sense. Our best player and our most tradeable player in the same package for the 9th pick and damaged goods? No way. And I feel you, Prowler, but Layden doesn't. He thinks this team can compete and isn't going to load the starting l with rooks, some of whom are still under the drinking age. It's just not happening.

I don't think Phoenix would do this trade because they'd take on so much more salary. Spree/KT/Eisley is over $20 mill I think, while Hardaway and the pick would be at least $10 mill less. They don't want to pay the luxury tax, why do you think they got rid of Cliff Robinson??

Are u sick?

Eisley and Kurt for #9 pick. Aint gonna happen. OMG I cant believe you even proposed such a thing. We get a bad reputation for proposing stuff like that. You cant get lottery pick without givibg Spree.

Sprewell + Harrington
for
Hardaway + #9 pick

seems about right.
