on the prospects of trading a guy like Mo Taylor, i can see only a select few teams who may be interested in trading for him...1 team i can possibly see is the Cleveland Cavaliers...i can see them taking Mo T off our hands in order to unload a headache of theirs in Drew Gooden, but the Knicks would have to add in a pick or 2 to make it worth their while, & the Cavs would have to throw in some more salary to match up the dollars as well...

a Mo T & a future protected pick or 2 for Eric Snow & Drew Gooden type trade proposal is something i can see Isiah making...i'm NOT saying i would necessarily even like that trade to be honest since Snow's got 4 years left on his deal at midlevel dollars & Drew Gooden's been known as a player that probably doesn't fit into LB's mold...but it certainly does seem to fit into Isiah's mentality & mode of operandi of late imho...the added longterm salary probably is not much of a concern as much as getting in a player that LB covets in Snow & a young, athletic player like Gooden w/personality issues that Isiah seems to sometimes be drawn towards...

of course, unless CLE could fill their hole at PG in another trade, i don't see them making this deal either...it was just a deal that in my view follows along w/Isiah's current mindset.

what do you guys have to say about this?

I can't believe TMS is posting a trade proposal.

I would do that in a heartbeat TMS, but I still think that before we do that we have to get rid of Sweets and either Allan or Crawford. Unless, you plan on keeping Sweets off the bench...

JJ/(Diop)/
Drew/Sweets/Butler
TT/Ariza
Q/Crawford
Marbury/Snow/Nate

Like you said Snow's 4 year contract is a little much but the type of slowdown game he plays, IMO, he can be effective until at least the last year of his contract which he will be excellent trade bait.

oh damn!

JJ/(Diop)/Butler
Drew/Sweets/Frye
TT/Ariza/Lee
Q/Crawford
Marbury/Snow/Nate

Like I said, I wouldn't trade for a PF unless Sweets is traded first.

I like the trade idea too. Something has got to give. If Diop is signed then the Knicks still would have too many power fwds....Frye would have to play more 4. I dunno.....Isiah is stacking talent.....but there are but so many minutes in the game.

i see now that Kurt Thomas is gone, Maurice Taylor has become the new whooping stick.

Eric Snow is to point guards what Maurice taylor is to power forwards. But you love Eric Snow because of something you read in the newspaper, i guess. Taylor can shoot better than Snow, lol

It is called the grass is greener effect. People like snow because he is not currently on the knicks and someone posted that he is a "larry brown type player". As soon as he puts on the orange and blue, he will suck and IT will again be the worst GM in the league... I know the routine..

again, if snow becomes a knick and lebron james isn't attached to the deal, then whomever made the trade for the knicks should be FIRED on the spot.

...then they get checked by the real fans who don't let haterism slide. All of us vets have that routine down pat, tkf.

As for the trade, I like it because it gives us a player LB seemingly has interest in, as well as adding to our strength @ the 4.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Those last 3 posts really summed up how I feel, but lwets add this tidbit to the mix.

25.5 million over 5 years.
Eric 'his-skills-are-melting-like' Snow will be 35 when his contract is up. 35!!!

If he sux now, how bad will he be at 35?

Who likes this trade idea and was irate over the James signing?

thats all I wanna know.

interesting, I was actually thinking that Isiah might offer something like Crawford and Malik for Drew and Snow.

For some reason, it seems like Drew and Snow make sense here. We'll see if it happens. I would really hate to lose Craw, but Drew might be a good fit here.

i agree...Snow's contract is the killer...but Isiah won't care about that...he wants to please LB & he would be turned on by Gooden's athleticism...Gooden's a way more talented player than Mo T as well...you're making Snow out to be the centerpiece of the deal, which he really isn't.

He is the centerpiece because his contract is the biggest and longest of the 2 players we get.

His suckiness is greater than all players involved, but I do like Gooden, just not at that price. You also have to factor in that Gooden will need to be resigned in a year or two for significantly more money. You are talking about what would be about AT LEAST 14 million per when you add Snow and Goodens contract up for the last 3 years of Snows contract. That is at a point when Snow will be completely and utterly useless and taking up space as a 33-35 yr old pg with no offensive game and no speed for defense.

Gooden's contract is a bonus, because in a year's time he represents a very young talented player that you can eminently deal to other teams & get back something of value for...you don't factor in the fact that you have to resign the guy & let that hold you back from making a deal of this kind...the only drawback of the deal is Snow, but like i said, Isiah doesn't care about adding longterm salary as he's shown in past trades he's already made...therefore, i think it's a deal he'd likely consider.

I'm sure Isiah would jump at that but I don't see clevland doing it.

Ditto; Gooden is a #4 pick and a key young player in their rotation. They're not giving him to us for Mo and a protected draft pick even if we take back a PG making 5 mil per year. That would kill their team this year and disappoint Lebron way too much. They need to be buyers not sellers if they want to make Lebron happy.
