With the Suns ready to give grant a two year deal worth close to 4 million and Finley looking to get the mid-level, did Isiah really put the knicks in a further whole with his 5 year contract to Jerome James....

This is earily similiar to when Layden used the mid-level right away on Weatherspoon, when there were better players out there.....

I think both of these player could have really helped and I for one have no idea what Isiah is doing, as Chris Anderson would have been a better fit than Jerome James....

There is a lot of talent availble cheap, and taking back bad contracts and signing players to them is really going to be detrimental in the long run

How could Finley or Grant possibly be any consideration when we are all complaining about the glut at 2 guard and PF now before we sign 2 35 yr olds?!?

the only guy who would have been a better fit for the MLE was Stro Swift, and he wanted to play in Houston, close to his home and no income tax.

signing two creaky old vets when we're rebuilding? please.

I'd say no re: Finley and Grant because they're both old /been injured and play positions where we need to play our younger guys.

I still see Big Game as a worthy risk because we were so unbalanced with size in the middle. If he pays off he does so in a way that's absolutely crucial - worth the gamble IMO.

Btw i think Anderson doesn't have the same upside. I think his strengths wouild duplicate Frye's while JJ adds the potential for the immovable force in the middle.

Anderson and Frye are 2 totally different players, IMO. Anderson is more of a defensive presence and Frye is more of an offensive player. I would've welcomed Anderson with open arms being he reminds me of a Stro Swift. But I still think with our lineup, Anderson is a little undersized for major minutes at the C position that we are going to need. Now if we had a spot at PF, and had someone like Jerome James on our roster, Anderson or Stro is the perfect fit.

No IT needed a center and James was the choice here.

Chris Andersen was never on the open market. He opted out of his contract with New Orleans and immediately re-upped with them. He didn't visit a single team. He wanted to stay in his hometown.

That's what IT said when he decided not to waive Houston, signed JJ, and traded for Rose and Taylor.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

It's amazing how some people think "young and athletic" means you get twelve 18 or 19 year olds who can jump really high. No, you must have veterans around those young athletes.

Yes it is truly amazing that some people think that beign yougn and ahletic means being, OMG, GET THIS YOUNG AND ATHLETIC!!!

I mean I'm sorry we did not get the memo from IT that you got that young and athletic means veteran and of average athletic ability at best!

Man, I'm so sorry I must have been under a rock when that memo came around.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Frye
Nate
Lee
Crawford
Ariza
Quentin
Sweetney
Butler

For some reason, when you have 8 guys on your team who are young and athletic, I kind of get the picture that we are actually getting younger and more athletic.

There is no question we got younger and more athletic really, the issue here is that IT has not done as good of a job as a GM as some expected him to. A good portin of his moves are questionable. Its fine to discuss this, but then you get jerks who can't handle a difference of opinon (and you know who you are) who only know how to post hater this hater that. Then comes a kneejerk retaliation to such brilliant arguments and the discussion detriorates into "i'm right, no i'm right, you suck, you suck more, dumbass!, jerk, etc.".

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

That's nice but you know we're playing the game of basketball, not track and field, and basketball skills count a lot more than being just young and athletic. When it comes to basketball skills, that list doesn't strike fear in ANYONE.

thats pretty much it. I dont know why I cant express thoughts on how hosed we got on some of these deals without being labeled a hater. I have said I thought he did a great job using the draft, which includes the KT trade. I even said I understood the TT/Nazr deal despite it not working out. I just think most of the rest is lame. I think a good GM would have done much better considering the resources he had to work with.

dude, it doesn't matter...the moment you disagree w/1 of Isiah's moves you get attacked from all sides & all your previous posts go straight out the window.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Yeah I'm getting pretty tired of being called a "Hater". I don't know what I've done to be labeled something like that. Now excuse me while I go make another pitcher of Kool-Aid for the simpletons on this board.
