I really don't understand what they are trying to do out there, not that I care. They have lost a considerable amount of the players that helped them last season, and frankly, they really didn't address their needs. They need a big man in the worst way, and most of all, they will need a backup PG....just like Minnesota last season, they will take a huge step back next season.

will all be dearly missed.

Yeah so they'll win 50 games instead of 62, poor Suns.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Hey dude (Simrud)! if Minnesota did poorly last season, it aint Phoenix that will not do poorly. Without Nash, they are a very bad team....

and Amare (top 5 player) and Marion and Nash, and guys that play D in KT + Raja + Brian Grant and scorers off the bench like Jimmy Jackson and can you smell Mike Finley playing there yet? Can ya?

its rough though, Nash is 32, they can't afford to take steps back now. Yes they have Amare, but his style of play is very dependant on a particular kind of pg.

Why must we start a new thread to beat a dead horse one more time?

Whats the obsession anyway? you sound like some cavernous worn out scorned bitter leather lady with smokers baritone dressed in K-mart polyester to exentuate your vaginal swelling wondering why your scanked out wishing the Suns will tank and elevate the status of the knicks and your distain for KT!

We gonna lose some games next year. About 35-40 loses by many estimates.

It would satisfy me if on one of those loses, KT drops 40 pts on us in the garden and reminds us what an asset he was for the last 5 years and proves your "basic INstinct" to be incoreect!

KT was never the bain of our problems. It was far greater than just one player infact!

If you feel somehow that any teams misfortune betters ours is a sad sad thing. If your wishing the suns to falter to substantiate our Marbury trade its really pointless.

As are most of your posts when your not thinking. Just think more often!

Phoenix will have a good season. Amare is amazing and they have Marion and Nash to help him out. I think they are still an elite. They other role players will fit nicely. They will feel the loss of JJ and Q but they will still be amazing.

I think they will be better - they might lose more games in the season but I think they now have a better shot at making the finals. They realized they can't win it all with just an offensive team - so they sacrificed some offense for some defense. their three offensive players are better than parker/manu/duncan on offense, and now they try to surround them with more defense. marion's already a good defensive player and amare has the tools to be one - he just needs to focus on defense more. nash won't be a good defender IMO but that's why they brought in raja bell and brian grant is meant to be a 5-10 min per game presence on the inside. KT will be the outlet man for the fast break - he'll grab boards and start the break. In the halfcourt set he'll make it tough for big forwards to double team off of him because he can hit that shot so consistently. KT isn't meant to be the best frontcourt player like he was on the knicks - if you put him next to marion and amare you're gonna see how he'll give other teams a real hard time.

People here were saying the same thing last year after they "foolishly" replaced Marbury with Nash.

...and the Spurs are a Duncan injury away from being in the lottery. what's your point? Obviously Steve Nash is the most important player for them because he fits in perfectly with the style of play of Marion and Amare. If duncan was hurt do you think manu and parker could manage the offense by themselves? is Nazr going to be the defensive presence tim is?

You're completely wrong, look at when Duncan wasn't on in the playoffs and Ginobli and Parker stepped up (Not to mention Big Shot Bob). Ginobli was on his way to being MVP of the finals after the first few games. No team in the league (aside from TWolves) are more dependent on one guy, Amare and Marion are monsters but they are incapable of producing consistently without a great point guard who can run with them. There is a big difference in taking away Nash than Duncan even though Duncan is a better player.

there's a huge difference between being off and not being out there. Duncan's presence changes the whole game - even if he isn't hitting his shots you need to guard him and usually double team him - if you saw those games when Duncan struggled the defense wouldn't let up on him because the last thing you want to do is let him get back in the game. Whether or not he takes the last shot like Horry or scores the most points (he was outscored by Manu many of the games) doesn't mean he isn't crucial to them winning. You take duncan out of there and now they have no interior game - which means Manu gets doubled teams off and you see a lot more zone defense because the Spurs can't really shoot. Duncan makes the Spurs so much better because a) he is a defensive anchor b) he forces the defense to focus on him even if he isn't hitting his shots c)he has great court vision and is fundamentally sound - he knows what passes to make that will eventually lead to an open shot. Don't forget that when Manu and Parker drive to the hole their shots are less contested because nobody is allowed to leave Duncan to help on defense.

I agree, SA is a good team all around. I think they will be in the playoffs without Duncan.
