Bucks Waive Calvin Booth
15th August, 2005 - 4:28 pm

NBA.com - The Milwaukee Bucks have requested waivers on center Calvin Booth, General Manager Larry Harris announced today. Booth will be designated as the team’s amnesty player as allowed under the new collective bargaining agreement.

The amnesty provision allows a team to release a player and remove his contract amount from the team’s salary cap for purposes of calculating the luxury tax. The Bucks will be responsible for the remaining years of Booth’s contract and he is free to sign with another team.

Booth was acquired by Milwaukee on February 24, 2005, along with Alan Henderson and an undisclosed amount of cash from Dallas in exchange for Keith Van Horn. The 29-year-old appeared in 17 games with the Bucks last season, averaging 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game. [READ]

Ehhh, I've never seen anything from Calvin to make me want to go out and get him especially with so few roster spots available. I'd actually much rather take Diop over him, Diop is 23 compared to Booths 29. I'll take the chance of Diops potential over Booth with the LLE.

the reason i say booth is b/c james is very foul prone. and frye has shown he is also in the summer league. what that translates to, we don't know but there will be nights where james and frye will both get into foul trouble. booth can play 15 mins. diop is a project. i would sign him and stick him in the NBDL all year BUT booth can play and help us at the nba level.

I'f rather get Diop than Booth, age being the main factor.

Hey, didn't Booth & James play together in Seattle?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

That sounds good, but getting Booth doesn't.
