I was just about to post this, but you beat me to it. Basically Mike Wise of NyTimes.com says he has been told by inside sources involved with the Knicks that they will draft Maybyner Hilario with the 7th pick. It makes sense because of them coming away impressed with his first workout and inviting him in for another. This would definitely make me happy. He's really the best pure inside presence available by the way it seems. He's going to be a great player.

This is great news, BUT, why would we want to leak this? Doesnt this make NENE more attractive to teams picking ahead of us now?

Other then the Cavs, not really. If the Nuggets want the best power forward, they'll take Drew Gooden. Then if the Cavs want the best player available someone like Wagner would be available. I think Hilario is the 7th best in the draft right now, behind Ming, Williams, Butler, Dunleavy, Gooden, Wagner, and Tskitisivili.

I dont think that is true. Knick havent made their minds up yet. I think the Knicks might go with Nene, but if somebody accidently slips down they will grab them. Between Wilcox and Nene, Ill go with Nene. But if the choice came between either Gooden, Wagner, or Nene. Youi have to go with one of the other 2.

That would be great after watching Shaq dominate the center position so throughly the Knicks need a center in the worst way. I think Hilario has shown one thing his willingness to get bigger. Hope he becomes a 7' 300 pound monster of a player.

what is this about "willingness to get bigger" - you can't just work out forever and suddenly become 7 foot, 300 pounds. are you kidding. you've got to be. to add 40 more pounds of muscle if this guy is already 260?! no way. karl malone, a work out beast cant even add that much weight.

He's listed at 6-11, 260lbs right now and maybe he can get up to a legit 270 or 275 later in his career. That would be enough.

There is no way in the world Hilario could go up 15 pounds in weight with 4 percent body fat. There's just no way to go up that much with so little room for improvement. I'm a wrestler for high school so I know a fair amount about adding weight and losing weight and what not, and with 4 or 6 percent body fat, whatever Hilario has, it's unrealisitc for him to increase 15 to 20 pounds. I'd say 10 at most.

However, he's only 19 and though he's probably at his maximum strength for this age, if he continues to grow (which is a possibility), then adding that muscle is feasable.

This guy is 19 and he has yet to fill out if he even gets to 280 that is good enough for me. It won't happen over night but you have to admit that putting on 30 pounds of muscle is impressive for anyone in a span of 3 months.

Nene is a stud. However, I am a little hesitant considering how the news has been leaked. On the other hand, some mock drafts have the Knicks picking Brochardt. I don't think that will be the case.

Nene is working out against Borchardt next week so we'll have to see how that turns out.

Nene crushed 3 (unnamed) NBA players 2 months ago so I don't think he'll have trouble with Borchardt...

My bad, but I do want to see who said it. If it was his agent or something similar to it he could just be BSing to get Hilario to move up a few spots.
