This situation seems to come up alot during the season and seeing H20 is probably coming back and assuming he can play a few minutes I was thinking that he is still my choice to take that last shot. Who would you want?
Steph
Q
Craw
H20
TT
Nate

wow this is tough, I dont want craw (even tho he hit some big shots last year) TT, Nate or Q...so for me its between H20 and Steph...and H20 is broken so by process of elimination i gotta go with Steph

I chose H20 becasue if he's healthy, he's going to be a lethal option for the Knicks. With the running offense and the style the Knicks are striving for if Allan is out on the court and teams are scattering to find defensive matchups in transition, Allan Houston is going to be wide open for alot of 3 pointers if hes playing and he's going to make most of those 3 pointers becuase the guy is a deadly shooter.

If H20 is hurt and then I want Stephon taking the last shot becuase although he's passed up a few shots at the ends of games before he's still a good finishing player, we've seen him sink the Spurs in the playoffs before and if it's not H20 taking the shot, I want Steph the one doing it

Nate has to prove alot of things in the NBA before he's taking last second shots. I don't want Q taking any last second shots for the Knicks, he doesnt make a high % of 3s, he just happened to take a ton last year and make a bunch. I mean he did only shoot 35% from 3 last year. Give me Steph and H20 over those guys anyday.

but what is Q's percentage on last shots? thats what I'd like to know. I remember reading somewhere that he was a good big shot player

since when is Allan coming back? the whole point of not using the amnesty rule on him is that it makes more financial sense if he retires.

Disagree. Gotta consider him signing with another team.

Even if Allan signs with another team, it won't save the additional $18 million that waiving Shandon does.

Guys, Allan is retiring.

Just think, we could put in a lineup of Steph/Houston (or Craw)/Q/TT/Frye ...not a bad team to make that shot.

Marbury doesn't exactly hit a high % of 3's- TT was the best for us as a % and he did hit some big shots for us.

I would be interested in what Q's % was in those situations- he did kinda come up small in the post season last year.

82games.com has clutch time statistics. Here are the clutch numbers for Q, Marbury, Crawford, and TT last season.

Marbury
jump shots (63% of attempts): .326 eFG% (15% assisted)
inside shots (39% of attempts): .390 eFG% (22% assisted)

Crawford
jump shots (83% of attempts): .431 eFG% (53% assisted)
inside shots (20% of attempts): .607 eFG% (9% assisted)

TT
jump shots (76% of attempts): .482 eFG% (90% assisted)
inside shots (27% of attempts): .300 eFG% (25% assisted)

Q
jump shots (73% of attempts): .455 eFG% (100% assisted)
inside shots (30% of attempts): .556 eFG% (33% assisted)

Marbury's percentages are by far the worst, but notice that the percentage of jump shots he made that were assisted is a lot lower than the others. That suggests that Marbury had to create his own jump shots most of the time in the clutch, whereas the others (especially TT and Q) were having shots created for them by teammates.

Overall, it looks like Q is the best option to go to, if you can create a shot for him. JC looks like the best guy to go to if you need to go one-on-one.

None of the above. This has been a problem area for the Knicks for years now.

Can we get this guy?

Houston should be on the court and at least be a decoy in that situation
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Craw...he's the most fearless & he's made some big clutch 3's before...Allan if he was healthy would easily be my 1st choice...Stephon tends to shy away from those big shots at times...i'd be nervous seeing him take the final shot to end the game.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

N8!!!!!!!!!!!! Not our best shooter, but he will win MANY games for us! Give him the ball and see him either dunk it or shoot a three to win it! Yeah Baby!
