we should have used at least part of the MLE on Darius Songalia. Kings can't sign him now. Or Stephen Hunter.

I'm actually okay with the JJ move, but when guys like Rahim, Stromile Swift are signing for the MLE and guys like Chris Andersen, Stephen Hunter and Darius Songalia are signing for less than the MLE -- how do you decide JErome James is the best option?

I'm not really sure I want the Knicks to sign another 6-9 PF. Do the Knicks REALLY need to add another Non-star PF to this roster? I think the roation of Sweets, JYD, Rose, Taylor and you can even throw Jackie Butler in there too. I think the Knicks have enough PFs on the roster right now, if there was only 2 then I'd agree and that's not a bad move to sign a guy like Songaila but not now.

Actually, the guy I would have wanted is Reggie Evans. He is tough and can board. He led the league in rebounds per minutes played this year. Could be our new Oakley. But I know there is a glut at PF. Wish we could ditch Taylor and even Sweetney if he brought something back.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I agree.. This guy against Knicks @ the garden already had 9 rebounds @ the end of the first quarter.. HE would've been a great addition to the Knicks frontcourt..

Ouch, I see Hunter got a small contract, but for 5 years. The only thing I can say is I hope JJ earns that contract..

Isiah wanted a true center with size and girth--he got what he wanted. I wish somebody would do some salary research and see where JJ's salary ranks with other real centers. I'm really anxious to see Sweets and James playing together, with both of there huge frames they should be clearing out plenty of boards both defensively and offensively.

Its not about him being a real center, is about him being able to play an important role on the team and earning the big contract he got, and you know its big when the guy gets a 5 year 30 mill after underachieving his whole career. If he can play and be a factor, it was a good signing...

Yep, Isiah isn't paying that contract unless he really believes JJ will step up his game--since Isiah is the one who recruited him and spoke with him, I have to give IT and JJ the benefit of the doubt here that he will be dedicated.

If he is right about James, will surprise MANY teams in the NBA and have a great run. But we'll see if James is up to the challenge

The post says the Knicks are working out Dasagna Diop now... are we trying to corner the market on huge lazy players? I'd rather start Malik Rose at center than Diop.

Not that Im hating. But..

Isiah thought he could motivate Timmy T.
Isiah thought he could motivate Mo T.
Iisah thought he could de-selfish J Craw.

But maybe Larry Brown can find a use for him. I personally feel JJ wont do much for the Knicks, nor will Channing. I think Quentin and Nate Robinson were far better aquisitions.

I'm surprised yoiu didn't include Marbury in your "Isiah thought . . ." list.

I think you're totally wrong about Channing and JJ.

And I hope to hell I'm right!!!!!

Alot of that is the coach's job, we have a coach now who will not put up with their nonsense. BTW I thought TT and Mo T played solid, some players are just not good defenders and I put them in that class.

Not to start anything but Mo Taylor actually played well for the Knicks last season. Look at what he did the last month of the season when he was in there.

agreed...Reggie Evans woulda been a great pickup...too bad we didn't use our MLE more wisely...i say we shoulda waived Mo T via the amnesty clause & signed Evans...then signed a guy like Dale Davis to be a stopgap C for the LLE...a minimal investment on a marginal player...that's being responsible w/the handling of your cap.

Many here will be veeery surprised with Frye's play. Maybe not starting the season, but down the road and in the future, people will be very surprised.
