JYD and Sweets for Desmond Mason.

Mason is a realy good defensive player and could be played at the 2 and 3. Not to mention he scores 17 a game.

He'll be our lockdown perimeter defender.

It removes the glut at the PF, it cuts money off the books, and it adds a great perimeter defender to the 2-3 position, if Milwaukee accepts this there is nothing bad about this.

Steph/Nate
Q/Crawford
Mason/Ariza
TT/Mo Taylor
James/Frye

You cannot be mad at this Lineup or the depth we will have. This insures that Frye gets meaningful minutes, and its fiscally responsible, all while giving us incredible depth.

Not to mention he's relatively young at 27 and still has room to improve under Larry Brown.

I gotta say I like it...we could put Rose as the starting PF as brown's watch dog and bring in MoT when we need low post offense.

Mason is polished and TT can play the 4 (it's been mentioned).

Ut Oh...This has been done before...

(back in 2003 when he played for the bucks and Karl [another NC coach, as good as LB?...it's been debated])

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/gen/jul03/156356.asp

Thomas said his problem with Karl was not that he had to play power forward after the team acquired Desmond Mason from Seattle, but that Karl did not tell him Mason would be playing more at small forward.

"The thing I was mad about George, and like I told everybody, I just thought I was disrespected as far as when they made the trade (for) Desmond (Mason), as far as just throwing him into the three spot," Thomas said. "It was never really an issue of playing the four (power forward), it was just a matter of how everything went about.

"If George had just come to me and said, 'Tim I need for you to play the four, the five, the one, the two,' it really didn't matter. I would have gone out there and played to the best of my abilities. It was just the way things went about as far as me going to the four position.

We may have a winner.

holy schnikeys...is that mr. 3.5 rebs per game starting at PF next to mr. 3.8 rebs per game at C?

this trade ONLY works if the follow up is tim for boozer or something like that.

otherwise i think this would leave us with a frontcourt WORSE than when we had spoon, othella, kurt and deke.

I think Rose and MoT could man it with Frye until we unloaded TT for a boozer like talent.

IT's damn close...he's about as big as Kenyon Martin.

this then creates a mega log jam at SF with mason, tim, and ariza.

this may be a deal we should re-visit AFTER the season or AFTER tim is gone first.

We could
1. Waive Tim Thomas
2. Use him at the 3/4 for about 20 mpg where he might really shine.

you KNOW i hate tim. we should've waived him last november.

talent wise, we get the best player right now...but it's tough for me to give up sweets when i see more potential in him at a tougher position to fill.

trade-wise, it's a fair trade. helps both teams.

Desmond actually had a few years where he averaged about 7 rebounds a game. (Q-Rich territory for a 2/3!). Then his rebounding plummeted 2 years ago.

I think PF is probably thee easiest position to fill. There are more talented PF's than any other position in the league.
