i think we should wait it out to let the PF contracts expire before we trade sweetney. we may have to suck it up one more year with jyd and mo - then they become expiring next summer.

^ you do realize that Frye and Lee will get LIMITED minutes if we have Sweetney, Rose, JYD, and Taylor all in the rotation right?

well that's the fear.

i was expecting lee as nbdl anyways b/c he's caught in a #'s game. frye, as of right now, i think is penciled in as the BACKUP center so he will get 20 mins a night.

^ B/c Larry would NEVER play 2 unproven rookies over 3 veterans.

Frye would have to show up like he's never shown up before, and that's as an absolute beast......and that's not happening, b/c it should've during SL....only it didn't.

DJ...Frye might get SOME minutes at Center, but by "some" I mean like 5-10. After that, maybe another 5-10 at PF, and that's around 15 Mins. MAX for him next season. Yay.

Ya....in his 2nd or 3rd year, and only b/c he really had no other choice - Tayshaun was simply outplaying anyone else they had and he was clearly ready, which is not and won't be the case with our rookies this year.

come on, dude. the fact that larry played a young tayshaun is a POSITIVE sign, not a bad one. prince was like a #25 pick too, larry stepped in his sophomore season. at least wait for training camp or preseason to judge if our rookies will earn playing time or not.

That's true, but I'm basing this on what I've seen of our rookies. None of them are as ready as Prince was in his 2nd year. Not only that, but we have a stacked rotation, unlike Detroit 2 years ago.

too bad none are hot. Also *you do realize* you have to take a player back dont you? You just going to have to wait for some of these bad contracts to expire.

No, I had no idea we'd have to take *a player back* in a "trade".

2nd year, and the year before that (his rookie year) Prince did not play a lick. It wasn't until after Brown came to town that he was played. Detroit had the Big Nasty on the team, and he was solid that year, and he came off the bench.

Tayshaun was outplaying people, but perhaps it was due to Brown, and maybe Brown can do the same to our guys.

I think its silly to say "larry does not play rookies", cuz he has in the past!

This team is not ready to make a big run, and playing vets big big minutes with none for the kids limits the upside.

Isiah did not take projects! He took players that had a bit of college under them. Only Jackie Blue is younger than Reezy!

If they can contribute, they play!

so summer league well before they've gotten 1 on 1 work in with the coaching staff proves they'll be bums for a few years? how do you define "ready"? how do you know none of our rookies could be "ready" from what you've seen, or are you just throwing the buzzword out there? it's easy to say tayshaun was "ready" knowing what we do about how much PT he got and his impact on the game, but did you predict his breakout season before hand? i doubt it. finally, i'm glad you really appreciate our depth. if our rotation is so stacked, why do you claim everyone's trade value is so low?

like i said, i want to hear the buzz around training camp and see what i can of the preseason before writing off these guys rookie seasons.

here's the thing with the rookies. Of all 3 only Lee doesnt offer something we dont have anywhere else on the roster. We dont have a player with Frye's scoring skills in the high post. He's also got size, obviously something else we lack.

Then with Nate he's pretty unique in the league, much less our roster. A two way player with great intensity and off the charts strength adn athleticism. We dont have 2 guys that can do what those two can do.

Lee I think will be a good player and I've heard he's a great passer, but he's got a lot of other 6'9 players to beat out for minutes.

Depth may be stacked, but we are over paying for everyone that's not a rookie (or Reezy or Sweetney), meaning trade value is low.
