If Nate lives up to the hype this season in his 10 mpg and gets the crowd involved, he wil be a very valuable player in NY. He will help sell tickets and that has to factored in when you consider what he is worth to the team. It also has to be factored in for teams with smaller markets who have problems selling tickets. How much will he be worth to them? What quality of player will they be willing to give up for him? I know its premature but its something to think about.

I think Nate is going to be one of the most popular players on this team. There are many players that are talented, however there are not that many players that can draw a crowd. Nate is one of those players. He has a great attitude so far about the game and being a team guy.

Isiah's plan is to develop Frye, N-Rob, Lee, Sweetney, Ariza, etc. and then package some of them for a dominant player, like Miami did to get Shaq, unless Frye becomes a dominant front court player. It could take two years to do that. Consequently, there really is no point talking about trading any of them now.

He didn't have to take much time to develop Lampe, Vujanic, and Frank Williams. If Isiah combine young players with any upside, draft picks, and expiring contracts, he can get another outstanding player. Hopefully he can pick the young players that look likely to be busts and choose those to package like he did in the Marbury trade.

Top tier front court players are more difficult to obtain than Marbury was, and require more assets, but I would never take another player with Marbury's horrible contract.

I don't know about that. Usually PGs and Cs are the hardest to get. (I'm counting the 7' PFs like Duncan, Garnett as Cs.) I think you could get a star like Elton Brand for less than it took to get Marbury (considering that at the time Lampe and Vujanic were considered outstanding prospects).

I doubt it, although even if you're right, as much as I would love to have him, he isn't good enough to help the current team win any championships, which is all I care about.

I don't think the Clippers have any intentions of trading Brand. He's the guy they are trying to build a team around. If anything, they would ship guys like Wilcox, but I just don't see the Clippers trading Brand for any of our stuff, unless maybe Marbury is in the package. If you're willing to do that, that's you're choice. Top tier power foward who can be a defensive anchor for a top tier PG who runs an offensve team with the best of them. I don't see the Clippers just trading a guy like that for "Garbage" though. It's just like Garnett. It would either take either Marbury, or a complete rip off to get him.

Eventually they're gonna give up on the idea of building around Brand. They've been paying him max dollars to be a lottery team for too many consecutive years. The reason they'd rather keep Wilcox than Brand is their salaries. The Clippers are a cheap organization--too cheap to re-sign the most improved player of last season to a salary slightly above the MLE, too cheap to keep a promising young guard (Q) in the organization for a little above the MLE. I wouldn't be surprised if TT, Sweetney, and either Nate OR Frye were enough to get him. (Obviously if eithe Nate or Frye looks like a star in the making, you don't trade him.) Then you let Larry Brown coach a lineup of Marbury, Crawford, Richardson, Brand, and Jerome James.

Nate seems like a player that LB could absolutely fall ln love with. He could make up for a lot of deficiencies in the backcourt.

I'd love to see Nate get a good amount of burn in his rookie year and impress. I'd like to see him force Larry's and Isiah's hands about configuring the team to get hinm a lot of PT.
