Living down in Miami for the past few months, Dan LeBetard (sportswriter here and ESPN guy) was talking on the local news this morning about the big Heat trade.

After discussing the arrival of Antoine Walker etc etc to the Heat, he went into a discussion about other deals upcoming in the league. He said in the past week Marbury has been "actively" shopped by Isiah Thomas/Larry Brown to many teams around the league.

According to LeBetard he seriously doubts Marbury will be in a Knicks uniform on opening day, considering Brown has a serious dislike for Marbury's style of play and demands "intelligence" from his backcourt.

Just found it interesting considering LeBetard's connections. He had called many parts of the big Heat trade down here a few weeks ahead of time. Let's hope it's true.






DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

OK having lived in South florida ince 1990 I have found Dn to be very unreliable whe it comes to anything. I would take most what he states with a grain of salt. And for the record the miami Herald is one of the worst papers in nation.Not just for bad reporting 1/2 the time but r thier political stands on issue that effect the community as a whole. I can't recount the number of times the herald has been caught changing pushing for issues only to be found out they have been accepting payofs or bribes. they do not practice objective journalism. I believe that Dan is way off base here the same way he was way of base with Ricky Williams and few other topics that would make this reply way to long.

if we trade marbury, then the BEST DEAL FOR ALL PARTIES is to atlanta to give us cap space and picks and that's it. if getting under the cap in 07 is the plan, then do it. otherwise FORGET IT.

Btw, if you read further another poster from Florida said that Dan IS reliable.

So 2 different sources saying 2 different things.

And as for any possible Marbury trades --

I don't even wanna go there...

And this isn't coming from a poster. It's coming from a journalist from the Miami Herald who is said to have lots of "sources".

Have you seen Dan LebRetard on ESPN (he sometimes fills in PTI) or read any of his columns. This guy has made a name for himself on taking the most contrarian stance possible and being completely anti-NY.

There is a big diffrence between Pharzeone and any other poster in a sports forum to a journalist citing facts in a newspaper.

No, I've never seen him or read his column. I don't claim to think he's reliable. I'm basing this on what I've read just today.

I'm also not saying Marbus is actually "actively" being shopped. A journalist is, which is being reported from a poster on RealGM. I thought some of you would be interested in knowing that.

we are under the cap after the 07 season look at hoopshype, and that has everyones salary on it except Butler and Arza which is gonna be less than 3 million.

Bobs, why can't you understand that before Marbury came to play with the Knicks---he was a cancer but once he put on a Knicks jersey...a championship team could be built around him.

I thought the moral to the story was that you need to catch the bullet then glow to figure out that Vanity has the hots for you.

I still have varying views and opinions about Marbury.

Ship him out is OK to get under the cap in a few years for the big FA market coming up or ride with him to the NBA Finals.

As long as we solve the PF situation I will be happy for now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Marbury's not going anywhere. I think he'll be given a chance to work with Coach Brown and Get With the Program.
