MY GOD!!! 109 million dollar payroll.. That's a disgrace!!!

They sure won't play like a 109mm team this upcoming season.. With a payroll like that, they should be winning over 60 games for the season.

Butler's and Ariza's contract #'s are not listed so the payroll is even more...

Isiah needs to keep TT and Penny so that their contract come off the books next yr along with Shandon Anderson's.. That will be 36mm off the books..

ISIAH,PLEASE DON"T USE THE EXPIRING CONTRACT AS TRADE BAIT!!!

If he trades those contracts for a find player with a long-term deal ,can't imagine what the payroll would be like next season.

The Future. GO KNICKS!

Actually with the rookies its about 117mm

if salary cap=62 NY Knicks salary is 172 MILLIOn $-20 for h20 amnesty=152

if they can get both allan and penny off on insurance deals ---If they can do that, knicks save 30mm$ but its not likely to happen

Well, I wish we did let the deals run of, but I don't think thats the philosophy of the Knick brass.

Then again, who knows what their philosophy is? They seem to change their mind every few months, seemingly to appease the fans. They are businessmen, nothing wrong with that, I just wish our owner was Marc Cuban, but so does every other fan in the league.

If we are for examle doing the tightrope balancing act some say we are, rebuilding while stayin competitive, then I dout we are not going to trade one of the expiring deals for something. We are prolly going to trade TT for somethign midway though the season and just let Penny's deal end.

The usual in between approach that we seem to be takin. (Notive the emphais on SEEM, I don't claim to know what goes on in IT's head!)
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I don't mind taking on big game players for TT & Penny as long as they only have 2-3 tops remaining on their contract since we're not going to be under the cap until then if ever. The window to win with Marbury and Larry is now otherwise another decade is going to go buy with the Knicks being strapped with longterm deals.

Hey it's half the Yankee payroll and I wouldn't be surprised if the two teams finished with similar winning percentages and the Knicks made the playoffs while the Yankees didn't.

Holy crap the Federal Deficit is over $500 trillion dollars.

Please President Bush do not use TT's expiring contract .... oh wait ... yeah Isiah you have to reduce payroll, $109 million is way to much.

the Knicks' payroll is like pocket change

Butler's and Ariza's contract #'s are not listed so the payroll is even more
that should send the payroll skyrocketing!

Payroll matters. Dolan has to pay it but being 70 million over payroll doesn't make this team good.

OT: Bonn add Dijon Thompson to your "Subtracted" sig. I like to nitpick.

BIG DEAL....

No 100million team ever won an NBA championship.. It isn't the right formula to winning titles..
12 to 15 man rosters with a salary cap, how can the Knicks expect to acquire top notch superstars if they're well over the cap???

It is a BIG DEAL!! Being well over the cap, diminishes your flexibility

My thinking is he should use them if he can get a really good player one of those expirings. We can always pawn off other pieces, but if we can get a brand, Pau, Artest, or someone of that calibur with those pieces, screw the cap and make it happen.

If not, let those guys fall off the edge of the mountain.

Totally agree. No trading the expiring deals for crap. Only All-Stars.

Baseball and basketball salary cap structure are totally different. As a matter of fact, both Yankees and Knicks are equivalent to one another cause with a 25 man roster for the Yankees, if you cut that in half, it would equal the payroll of the Knicks..

And neither will be making the playoffs.
