During the course of the normal physical examination taken by forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, to complete the trade, a question arose concerning a portion of the testing. The Nets are currently in the process of seeking other medical opinions, and until further notice, the trade with Portland for Abdur-Rahim has been put on hold. As a result of this development, the Nets have cancelled today’s scheduled press conference to announce the team’s free agent signings.

take it for what it's worth. Shareef doesn't scare me. For all those 20 and 10 games he's had, his actual impact on any team is little to none.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

nice! even if the trade does go through they will be counting on 3 gimpy starters kidd, carter & rahim!

Maybe there is a decent forward available after all. But if this Knee stuff is true we don't need another Houston/Mcdyess/Kiki/Blackman/Smith situation.

Why exactly do you hate them? I could care less about them. They're pathetic. For all the superstars on that team, for all the wins they get, THEY CAN'T SELL OUT A HOME PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST SHAQ AND WADE.

How can you hate that. The Nets are like a small little dog that barks loud and nips at your fingers. All you have to do is ignore them, and they become non-existant.

I could understand how you could feel that way when K-Mart was there - that guy just had a knack for getting under your skin. But no one on the Nets has that type of attitude anymore.

Hell, they have Vince friggin Carter, the leader in All-Star votes the past 5 years, and they still need McDonald's meal plans to sell family ticket packages. That's just sad, not hate-worthy.

I hate the Nets too but I want them to get strong and smug and THEN walk in and hand them their friggin livers on a platter! Big Game and Frye will swat their s**t back into the swamp!

btw do we have a nickname yet for Frye? He is getting seriously underloved on this board lately.

As a Knicks fan, it's in my genetic code to hate on the Nets. They were our doormat until a few years ago. The rivalry is real.

That would be significantly easier to accomplish is I didn't have to put up with half-ass Nets fans (because 90% of so-called Nets fans are bandwagon riders or Knicks haters that latched themselves to the closest team to them).

I've been hating on the Nets way back when Jayson "Shotgun" Williams used to snap on the Knicks all the time. Plus, Jason Kidd is trying to keep the tradition going, visiting talk shows and saying punk sh!t like "Knicks who?" when asked about them.

Yeah true that, and I even saw the McD's Nets ticket deal flyer (one of my Knicks hater/Nets fan co-workers put me on the damn Nets mailing list ). It was funny as hell and I use it all the time to shut Nets fans up. They need to be constantly reminded that no matter what happens during the season or whatever, the Nets will always be under the Knicks by default. Regarding Vince, I can't wait for him to start PMS'ing again and starts sitting out games (he always does and won't let anyone down this year).

...and we'll win the season series this year, again putting things back in their natural order. The Nets will crash, burn & perish. Eastern Conf. finals, my azz... F the Nets and every last one of their so-called fans.

I hate the Nets too.....all because of Kidd. I was always a closet Nets fan but Kidd has killed that for me.

Still SAR would be a big pick up for them but if he has a bad knee then too bad for them....still will put out a decent team regardless.

Man, I bet the Nets regret drafting Wright over Warrick right now. Warrick makes so much more sense than Rahim for them anyway.

I also somewhat regret passing on Warrick at 8 at this point...sigh...

yup....drafting Wright was just dumb since they have Vince and RJ not to mention ron Mercer!!! and that Euro Kid....the 6'7" point guard that should be a shooting guard? Don't care to check for his name.
