Hi all, another reminder. Andrew and I think we have the last version of the new forums all set, but we do need posters to go through it and more thoroughly test the features to make sure everything works.

We have moved data from the current forums to the new forums 2 days ago - for updated data. Please jump in and let us know if things do/don't work.

New for this rev: 30 topic threads show up per page. 30 posts per topic/thread show per page. Topic starter is now under the thread title.

The extended pages are a good improvement. Also, the topic starter being listed under the topic make for a less cluttered page, and a little more room for the subject title (or does it?).
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

right, that was the other thing we changed: how the paging works. Also, title will get more room.

you need to add a CHAT feature for games.

instead of making posts while the game is on, a CHAT room would be MUCH better - only open during a game.

Good idea, DJ. Gametime chats would add a new dimension to the site.

After the games are over, the chats should be accessible like the message threads.

Looks good, but I don't really like the topic starter's name in the small, light colored font under the thread title. Sometimes when you only have a few minutes to read the forum, you quickly might want to skip over threads by certain posters. This makes it harder to do that.

I bet you'll get used to it. We are used to looking for the name in one spot so it will be weird for the first few days. If its the font size thats bothering you then I dunno, but I think the actual positioning shouldnt be a problem given some time.

looks great! posting in the game thread during the games works for me. opening and closing the chat might be too much work and valid points may be lost.

I agree that the spot is ok. The light gray font really kinda blends in with the background though. Perhaps a darker font? Font size is ok I guess...its my eyes that are slowly deteriorating from staring at computer screens.

you should config the firewall to redirct all bob's posts to the beta site. This way
a) you get a solid stress test because of the volume
b) nobody replies to bobs and he assumes his is always right

I like the functionality of the arrow (jumping to the first unread post), but I don't like the way it looks. The yellow arrow in the gray box looks heavy and blocky. Maybe an arrow without the box?

I think the arrow should be subtler.

I tried to initiate a topic on the beta site and got this error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'strSignature'

/forum_beta/includes/inc_post_form.asp, line 16

(I don't have a signature, and I'm using Firefox.)

yeah, I was changing some code at the exact time you posted. Back to normal now.
