Who knows, maybe Wang will ask for political asylum (wouldn't that be a major bummer for the chinese army).

It's interesting though, even if the Rockets get their guarantee of having Ming for regular and playoff games (all of em), what's to stop the chinese army from taking Ming back when his rookie contract is up?

I'm not gonna lie... I'm happy that the Knicks don't have to worry about all this. One less thing to worry about from their draft pick next year.

Actually be worried, if all this mess escalates what's to keep Ming from pummeling down to the 7th pick?

Houston is almost assured of taking Ming. If they don't take him, Golden State is going to take him (Chicago will probably take Williams regardless). Considering that Golden State is one of China's preferred destinations for Ming, I don't think he's going to slip past 3... he's way too solid a talent to pass up.

Talent regrettedly has nothing to do with it or the Rockets would make it public they'd take him.

a) will he play in all your games

b) will he be called back after his rookie contract if his career isn't developing to the likes of China

This is besides all the other questions arisen while dealing with China.

Look at it this way... the Rockets are hesitant, but Golden State isn't. If Ming were to slip to them, it'd be a godsend for them, since they felt hosed by the lottery. If he's there when Golden State gets called, he's gonna get taken... if anything, St. Jean will negotiate for Ming after they secure his draft rights.
