Wow is all I can say, the Heat have REALLY improved from last year and thats scary. Last year it was the Shaq/Wade show, now you throw in a few more then capable vets and a potential all-star in Walker.... the NBA better be on serious notice.

RealGM - The Miami Heat , Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtics have reached a tentative agreement on a three-team trade according to an NBA source close to the negotiations who spoke with DraftExpress.com’s Jonathan Givony.

The Miami Heat will receive Antoine Walker via a sign-and-trade from Boston, as well as Jason Williams and James Posey from the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies will receive Eddie Jones from Miami and Marcus Banks from Boston.

The Celtics will receive Earl Watson via a sign-and-trade from Memphis, as well as Dorrell Wright or Miami’s trade exception.

Watson’s inclusion in the trade is a new twist to the deal, satisfying their need for a starting point guard. He will reportedly receive the mid level exception.

All i can say is oh my.

Miami is looking for a title NOW.

And with this squad:
JWill, Wade, Posey, Walker and SHAQ...I'm scared to death.

Luckily they were already better.

that is a good spot for walker. he wont start and he is down on the totem pole where he isnt the leader, hes part of a team where his play and minutes will be controlled. he couldnt be a huge part of the knicks, he's in the best possible palce for what he is

thats a pretty good frontcourt

Shaq
Zo-Haslem-Doleac=A Walker
W Simien

I mean holy sht

Walker won't start?

Shaq
Zo (Maybe)
Walker
Wade
J Williams (probably)

Who is starting in front of him? Haslem, Doleac, or Simien?

Notice that the Heat gave up very little in this trade...I think this shows that Isiah did not want Walker and has his eyes on someone else for the frontcourt. who that is I just don't know--maybe Boozer really is available? Nene?

If IT does not upgrade, we really are rebuilding this year because we will have nearly the worst frontcourt in the NBA as we are currently configured.

The only hope I have is that Channing Frye is a star, because I have not seen him play enough to say he isn't.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

No way, Haslem will. Haslem is a FIT in the starting line up, walker gets a Detroit mcdyess type role 20-24 minutes

It really is the perfect team for Walker. He will be the #3 option so he won't be facing double and triple teams. But if Shaq plays the way he did last year--just let the other guys operate while he attracts 3-4 defensive players, AW will have tons of opportunities to make plays and god forbid, --------->shoot!

I predict on the Ultimate Knicks record that Antoine Walker averages 18-20 points, about 9 rebounds, and approximately 5 assists this year, and is more efficient then he has ever been because he is finally in the right place.

THey are going to put Walker back at his natural position, SF.
PG-Jason Williams
SG-D Wade
SF-Antoine Walker
PF-Haslem
C-Shaq

Bench: Zo, Posey, Ras Butler, Laettner, Doleac

Killer Starting lineup and not a bad bench there at all... is Damon Jones back with them yet or no?

Miami is OFFICIALLY the favorite to win the title next year.

Also wanted to say that, while Memphis is getting less than market value for their players, they're building the right way. West is bringing in low-key, defensively-solid, veteran players to surround his young talent.

Jones, Stoudamire, B-Jax... THOSE are the type of players you bring in.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

don't count 'em before they've hatched.

miami's seriously altered their chemisTry.

botH jwill and walker have to have their hands on the ball ALOT.

that means less control of the tempo from Wade = a bad thing.

and don't forget what briggs said - we have something they most decidedly don't -

BIG GAME JAMES !

^ I feel what you're saying. Sort of like what happened to Dallas a few years ago. But I think Riley is smart enought to know who to play and when. J-Dub and Walker are brought in for 3's (possibly to replace D. Jones who could be going to the Cavs), and Posey for defense.

Btw, anyone else think the Heat got A WHOLE lotta value for Eddie?

Jeeze.

Watson = nice pickup for Boston. Edit: Woahh, Watson getting the full MLE. Damn. Puts James into perspective huh.

Get real.

Antoine Walker and Jason Williams are two of the most out of control, undisiciplined players in the league who do not play defense. It looks good on paper but Miami did not get better. Detroit and Indiana are still ahead of them.

You must be nuts. Walker, first of all, isn't even gonna start. J-Dub is way more under control than he used to be, and both him and Walker can hit the open 3 (Wade kicking out). I'm assuming that's why Riley brought them in. Also, there's no way they're keeping Damon now, roster would be too cluttered. So they would need someone to replace the Jones's 3's.

Miami and Pheonix next year in the finals.

Miami and Phoenix in the NBA Finals? The same Phoenix that lost Quentin Richardson and Joe Johnson and only have that phony Kurt Thomas to show for it? I'm the one who is nuts?

Indiana and San Antonio in the Finals.

Miami Got Much better. They gained rebounding shooting and ball handling and they lost a redundant player in Eddie Jones.

Jason Williams will have to sacrifice the most in terms of his own offense, but he stands to gain the most as well, because if he plays like a real point guard he has as good a scoring lineup to dish to as anyone.

I predict on the Ultimate Knicks record that Jason Williams averages a career high in assists this year.
