The New Jersey Nets wanted Shareef Abdur-Rahim in their uniform and the former Olympian wanted the same. When there's a will, there's a way. After Ohio native Michael Redd reportedly agreed to a six-year deal to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Cavaliers turned their attention toward Washington Wizards unrestricted free agent Larry Hughes. Hughes' agent, Jeff Wechsler, told ESPN.com's Chad Ford that the shooting guard has come to terms on a five-year deal with the Cavaliers.
Cleveland was also believed to be interested in Miami free agent power forward Udonis Haslem. Now it appears Haslem will be returning to the Heat, according to the Miami Herald.
Sacramento Kings free agent Cuttino Mobley will reportedly sign for five seasons with the L.A. Clippers, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The biggest name on the free agent market, SuperSonics guard Ray Allen, reportedly agreed to a five-year deal that would keep the sharpshooter in Seattle, according to ESPN.com.
As for Redd, it appears he will be getting a capable backcourt mate for the next five seasons in Bobby Simmons. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the 6-6 guard and 2004-05 Most Improved Player has agreed to a five-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.
