"Larry Brown, who coached Allan Houston at the 2000 Olympics, said he is hopeful the veteran shooting guard will be healthy enough to play in the fall. The Knicks, however, are expected to buy out Houston's contract, which would save the organization $40 million. Houston has told friends he would consider Miami, Detroit and New Jersey if the Knicks release him." New Daily News
As if going to Detroit and the Heat weren't bad enough he said New Jersey? And he has mentioned all eastern conference teams too! Do you think he is saying this as a ploy to not get cut?

My once favorite player would become my most hated if he went to New Jersey.

Miami and Detroit are upper echelon so they will be better than us regardless, and while NJ is probably a better team now, this is a freakin rivalry and we have a chance to win everytime we play!! WTF?!?!?!
"The Cavs may have missed in pursuing Larry Brown as a team executive, but will the just-named New York Knicks coach have better luck landing Cavs point guard Eric Snow for his new squad? Word is, don't be surprised if Brown convinces Knicks General Manager Isiah Thomas to acquire Snow as a backup point guard - someone Brown can then use as a motivational hammer over Knicks starter Stephon Marbury, who clashed with Brown last year on the U.S. Olympic team." Cleveland Plain Dealer

This is that Chad Ford/Bobs talk that I don't buy into one freakin bit. Eric Snow is gonna pressure Marbs? I can't see it at all. And more importantly, who will we be trading to get him and his big ass contract over here? Craw for Snow will not happen, I dont believe it for a second.

Play in NJ mean he does not have to move!

I would love it if he did well.

See him light up the garden would be great!

Knicks and nets are in different places. Lighten up!

at this point, it doesn't matter anymore. he's finished here. so if he signs with NJ and then drops 20 off the bench and beats us at the garden...well, there's nothing we can do. but it's still better than trying to hang on to false hopes.

Honestly, i think he's done.. Severe case of arthritis on his knee??? Not good especially @ the age of 35 this coming april 2006..

If there's any chance of him going to NJ, it would be to relocate for a new home, not play!!!
The Future. GO KNICKS!

I don't want another Ewing scenario. Pat looked weird in Sonic Green and then that stupid Magic colors. I want Allan to play for the Knicks or retire. Call me selfish, I don't care. HE is a Knick through-and-through.

This would be great for H20. I wish him luck wherever he goes.

Sorry for not being a Net hater, but if he could go to a contending team and be a specialist off the bench for 10-15 minutes a night, I think that might be the best situation for him.

If you're really an Allan Houston fan, you'd want the same for him. He has no role on the Knicks and we're moving in a different direction. He's not an NBA starter anymore, so the best he can do is find a contending team that actually has a role for him.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I couldn't give one iota of a damn where Allan goes when he leaves NY. He's spent the majority of 2 years sitting on his azz collecting a goddamn check.

Later for all that "He's been a Knick for however long" crap.
What has he done for us lately? We lost 22 games by 6 or less last year and he could have made a difference. This cat doesn't want to retire even after being obviously unable to make a positive contribution to the team while collecting that dough. A true Knick would do what's best for the team, NOT loaf off with a lame excuse while still getting that paper.

Let that greedy bastard limp his crippled azz over to NJ. Maybe he can take some of the bad luck the Knicks have had over the last half-decade with him.

I am so glad that Isiah and Larry hate soft players. Maybe now we won't make another mistake like the one made when we gave Allan that $100M deal.

A one-dimensional jump shooter with arthritic knees? Yeah, the Nets deserve him.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think that "hardcore" attitude is just a cover for a warm sensitive man who cares abot things other than basketball!

Hatin on allan does not help anyone. Jut let it go man, be free form the gazyness! We are all just pawns of the media, whom if allowed to form your hardness, then you too are a victom of the consipiricy!

Breath deep and let the hate out and the love in!

Now, doen't that feel better?

I'm not allowing the media to dictate my opinion of Allan, history does. It's time for the Knicks to exhale and move on.

I'll let the Allan issue go when the team does.

August 15th can't get here sooner!
