Allan is outta here in 2 weeks. It'd be only right for the nYK to be the first to enact the Allan Houston rule.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think they are going to implore him to retire and offer him a job in the organization.

I'm sure he'd opt for that over having that rule used on him, validating the rule's current nickname.

If the retirement/front office pitch works, so be it- especially if it gets him OFF the cap quicker.

Fact is, he's gotta go.

Nah, just rooting for my Knicks to make wise moves that are conducive to the improvement of our squad... Every day, all day. Even from back in the day, K9...

Not that it matters that much, but how does waiving Houston make us any better? That does not take him of the cap, so what gives?

This is just helpin Dolan financially, thats all it is.

The only benefit I see in this is a roster spot, but if we really wanted one, we can just waive Bruno, who I don't know why is he even in the NBA still.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

The lux tax saving, as well as the roster spot make it worthwhile. It's just time for us to move on. Arthritis in the knees doesn't just go away. All Allan can really do is jump shoot, so how well will he perform with the gimpy knees?

I hope Allan can play somwhere else. Naturally we'd all prefer him to return to near allstar status and show off those incredible fundamental moves.

Allan was graceful, and a picture perfect stroke!

Its gone, and time to move on. No hate on allan! I wish it was otherwise. Its hard for an athlete to be 70% back, but its just not enough. The fires burn inside him.

I wish him well while he figures out what he will do with the rest of his life, and how he will spend all that damm money!

Brown has not given up on still-rehabbing Allan Houston. Thomas will wait to training camp to decide Houston's future.

"In his heart he feels he can come back," Brown said. "It would be a huge plus for us."

isaih thomas is a shrewd business. and a gangbanger, at heart, Do not be fooled by his charming smile because you and i both know that isiah has zero interest in allan houston.

in fact, i would go as far as to say that if isiah ran into each other in the back alleys of new york city that isiah would actually try allan.

(don't ask me what they would be doing in a back alley. i thought it would insight to my post)

when the camera focused its lens on isiah standing in the tunnel, that was gangster! But you may have thought he was trying to intimidate the team.

NO!

He was looking at allan houston thinking to himself, "i can't wait to get to you"

Well, now he has his chance.

LOL I still think Allan's days are numbered. If he's still here after 8/15, then I'll believe that Larry really wants to give him another shot.

We'll all know by Aug 15th.. This will forever change Allan's Houston's career as a Knick or even his NBA career..

It's ashamed how he got injured with the knee

When healthly, he was very productive with that sweet stroke...

Im sure the organization are not just gonna waive him like that.. Isiah and Knick mgmt will talk to him first before making the final decision.. They owe that to him...

I think Allan is greatly disrespected in NY, but the bottom line is $$$$$$. How could the Knicks not take advantage of a 70MILLION $ savings. I take this back to my arguement about having problems pricing their cable, continually moving their prices to patrons upward in every facet of the expereience. At some point, someone has to say stop, were not going to HOPE Allan can play, he just hasnt been able to do it, hes 34, an age most guys are done, and Im not going to pay that kind of outlandish $ to a player EVEN if he had a chance to play 15 minutes for 40 games. Let some other team do it.

Insurance of 40MM@ 80%=32MM tax savings=40MM total net savings 72 MILLION dollars

its just way to much green

Im trying to imagine Isiah wearing that red shirt holding a basket of popcorn and imagining him as a "gangbanger".

Popcorn and gangbanging don't mix!

I think Dolan, Mills and the accountants all see Allan to the bottom line. Isiah's job it to field the best team given what ever the circumstances. Im sure he too would prefer Allan be healthy.

A lot of damm money ast stake if they can get him to retire!

I think everybody has to look out for themselves at this point. I say NY axes him, it's ridiculous to not save that kind of money on a guy that looks unlikely to recover anywhere near his old form, especially when you now have 4 guards and are ideally situated to move on. AH should not retire, he should soak up evey penny he can muster, go take it to another team and pull a steve smith, he's been sitting on teams' benches the last few years barely able to walk on and off the court, lending his veteran "cachet" and "presence" to teams - what BS. Then, Allan's first game back in the Garden, do one of these tearjerker video salutes to him like they did for Ewing - treat him right in pulblic, it's better to spread a good vibe around in public.

Like EWING?? Funny what a "graceful, and a picture perfect stroke" can do for your popularity. Its like dunking a lot.

Whoops.

OK I shouldn't say like Ewing, but do something nice for him, save everybody's face, let the people who loved him have a chance to give it up for him, let him bask a little.

I'm sure they'll announce which game it will be and you can cover your ears and curl up in a ball under the covers like I do when the 4th of July fireworks are going off!!
