as well as the possibility of no gilbert arenas rule. this is from mark cuban speaking on his radio show. this is the main holding point of the cba right now, the small and big market owners cant agree amongst themselves. makes some sense because the amnesty rule only benefits a few upper tier teams.
so if it doesnt happen, we still have allan.

Mark Cuban has a radio show???

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

agreed! Amnesty clause aka Allan Houston rule is here to stay. Mark Cuban's blog doesnt say anything about it.

This just shows who was the greedy party on the negotiations with the players.

The owners are pathetic.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

According to the most recent reports ..

1. one time only, one player only opportunity this summer
2. any player
3. Mourning's contract would be eligible

Note that they keep modifying this proposed rule, and it isnt set in stone til the new CBA is written. Mark Cuban said on dallas radio today that they arent even sure if there will be an amnesty rule.

Yep, they might end up scrapping the whole thing. And the Arenas/Boozer provision might still end up getting scrapped totally as well. They are having extreme difficulty coming up with versions of those provisions that aren't very objectionable to at least one group.

The ironic (if that's the right word) thing is that Stern is not only having trouble with the NBPA on those provisions, but he is also having trouble with a large faction of owners who are either smaller market owners or who will be under the salary cap (or both).

I would be absolutely shocked at this point if both the Allan Houston provision made it in as well as the Arenas/Boozer provision with the MLE requirement.

So I guess the CBA hasnt been agreed on? Interesting. I thought no FA's can be signed until the new CBA was in place.

Ouch this sucks, I just want the Gilbert Arenas Rule to make it though so we can lock up Trevor instead of having to use the LLE on him this season (though I won't mind doing that if we have to).

we would be lucky if all it took was the LLE after this season.

No need to guess and as almighty would say...it's too much work so for us lesser mortals to find a link....well. It must be correct... right...because it comes from Briggs and those oh so reliable sources he has....on the web....yeah....right?

Eh BRIGGS is yet to make stuff up like this, he does make up measurements and ages, but I think this has a little too much detail to be made up.

I meant to give him the LLE in this offseason for 2 years.

honestly, the whole notion of a cap is unamerican.

Guarantee these small market guys are not card carrying communists, but they act like them.

Oh, we're in a small market, Knicks, bail us out please.

Knick ticket prices higher partly because Dolan & Co are dumb, but also because the owners of teams like the Bucks & Charlotte and Utah are greedy.

I am so sick of living in the metro area and supporting the hick mid section of america. Its bad enough my tax dollars go there, but that my entertainment dollars do as well is just too much.

I wonder if cuban isn't behind this notion of not having the amnesty rule?

He's confronted with the logic of waiving finley, doesn't want to do it, but the dollars make so much sense that he can't help but waive him.

Maybe that's why Larry has talked about Houston in the present and future tense.
