Orlando trades Grant Hill for Keith Van Horn and a future #1.
KVH is an expiring contract for Orlando who doesn't need Hill, hes 33 and they could use the cap space. Orlando is not winning anything anytime soon and they have Jameer and Dwight Howard who need to develop. Grant Hill ought to be on a team that can compete now because hes still playing at a high level but can't have much in the tank left. The future #1 helps them add another nice young player, provided they don't screw it up and draft another Euro who doesn't come over.
Dallas is in win now mode. They could have beaten the Suns last year but they are missing something. Grant Hill brings some ball handling and distribution to the table that they need because Jason Terry isn't a real PG. Grant is also good for 20 ppg, and they need that as well. With Phoenix likely being a less powerful team next year, Dallas should see the Spurs in the WCF next year with a move like this and they have a shot to win. They need a 3rd scorer now that Mickeal Finley is shot and will probably be waived and he would fit perfectly.
