Trade an expiring contract for Grant Hill. His contract expires after 2007 with H20 & Taylor. We could always use an upgrade over TT & Ariza at SF. It would be much better than adding Walker or adding another digruntled guard like Steven Francis. We would legitimately be the Sonics of the East since Hill and Lewis are similar only we'd be better and have Larry Brown as coach! This way we build a contender in the East and take advantage of Marbury's prime and Brown as our coach. Hill would put us up there with the best of the East and it would make for a great season for us fans!

Orlando speeds up their rebuilding process and they can't do better than a huge expiring contract for Hill

grant hill is not the direction we should be going.

if we won 50 games last season, then maybe

but we won 33, hill is not needed here.

isnt this the same guy that harps on Houston's contract?

Please... this would be a disaster. Lets build something.

I respectfully disagree. A 33 win team with Larry Brown now coaching, real Centers, Sweetney & Ariza with another year under their belt, Quentin Richardson and marbury, crawford & Nate maximizing their strengths under Brown. Grant would give us the reliable mid-rangeshooter we desperately need and he can post up(he shoots 51% by the way as opposed to Walker's 41%)

PG-Marbury
SG-Q
SF-Hill
PF-Sweetney or Frye
C-Frye or James

I like it!

difference is Hill is good. A great all around player and he is currently playing basketball.

Its either that or pray expiring contracts get us Brand or Gasol than settle on Steve Francis because he's another young, athletic & talented combo guard who would "help" us.

no. hill is an injury short of playing ball in a wheelchair.

Let's think about future for once.

Now, time is on our side.

What real centers? Frye is a tweener (Hopefully a good one) and James has never played more than 20 mpg in a season. Most of Larry Browns teams had players totally committed to defense. Kurt Thomas woulda fit nicely (Even though we needed to move in a different direction) A mid range shooter would be great, yes indeed. But why not just make Quentin the mid range shooter, or perhaps, how dare I say, keep Allan and see what he can do as a backup for 15 or so minutes a game. Just makes everyone attempt to earn their minutes even more.

why when we can have Grant Hill's services for only 2yrs. His contract expires after 2007 along with H20 & Taylor. I'd still be shocked if
Orlando went through with it. Its not like you're using an expiring contract to get Steven Francis who is locked up past 2009. Orlando was a playoff team with Grant Hill in there last year and a rookie bigman and steve "me 1st" francis. I'm just thinking of the possibilities with Marbury, Hill, crawford, Q, Sweetney & Nate with Larry Brown coaching!

Guns.. did Hill finish the season last year? He made a nice comeback, but my god, how can you put any eggs in that basket?

If we are willing to take on that kind of $$$ I would rather bring in Adonal Foyal if Pietrus is attached, or rid the Lakers of Brian Grant and get Odom back.

If we are willing to gamble on Hill we can do 100 different and better things with that kind of $$$$

Again Grant Hill can be let go after his contract expires after the 2006/07 season. Incase anyone lost track we are entering the 2005/06 season.

We would still have our expiring contract just one year later along with H20's and Taylor's. Thats $47mil in expiring contracts in 2006/07! and who knows maybe by then there will be a bigman available rather than a Steven Francis combo guard who would make us young, athletic, flexible etc

If hill goes down for a few games then Q, Ariza and Lee step in. We'll be fine. At least we get TT off the team

my question is was the injury related to his previous ones? I remember him saying it wasn't

Guns I will give you a pass on this. Hill has 2 years left, not the 3 I thought. It says he have 2 years and $33mm remaining. If thats accurate I would be open to it. Whats the deal? TT for Hill straight up?

I just dont see the MAgic doing something like that. I think they are just going to stick it out and see what happens but who knows.

Foyle's long contract would hurt us a lot more than Grant Hill's for only 2yrs and Hill is on another plain talentwise. You know I love Piertus but I don't want him at the expense of Foyles ridiculous contract where he will be making $10mil in 2010. Piertus is good but not that good. I rather do something like trade crawford or Q for him

yeah it would be TT. I don't see them wanting Penny back and TT is at least useful. I wish Isiah would explore this damn I should've went lastnight!

Foyal's a bad price but he's a good rebounder, decent defender and great shot blocker. He and James give you great size if nothing else. Now you have 2 athletic defenders on the perimeter in Ariza/Pietrus along with big players up front like Frye/Foyal/James.

All of the sudden your make up is you have some firepower guards in Nate/Marbury/Craw a pair of long athletic defenders on the wing in Pietrus and Ariza and some big shot blocking bodies up front. If thats not a good mix for Larry B I dont know what is.

yeah that is a good plan. I would do it eventhough Foyle's $10mil in 2010 will kill us. At least it makes sense and isn't another TT for Brand/Gasol for an expiring contract dream.

Fish is this deal available? I was against it in the past but I think it fit well with what the Knicks are currently trying to do. I would look to move Q Rich too if we could get this deal done. I rather have Pietrus and Ariza start with Pietrus at the 2.
BTW, Isiah envisioned a running team but is LB on board with that? I am sure they talked about some things but I almost get the idea that LB is still in shocked about not going back to Detroit.

not even for only 2yrs? if you think we should just let TT's contract expire than I could definitely accept not trading for him for Hill. But if you're holding out hope that TT will get us Elton Brand or someone like that than I say trade for Hill if you can then either let his contract expire next year or hope some good players will be available. And I guarantee there will be more good players next year than this year. Unless you consider Steven Francis a good player to use expiring contracts on

Why would the Knicks get Steve Francis?
