The deal isn't finalized yet and they are trying to make it a sign and trade to hold on to the MLE for other players.......what other players exactly I don't know. This is good news, but how will we accomplish this?

Can someone figure out what a sign and trade could look like for us? I'll get started on it later.

Why do I have a feeling its Walker? (for the MLE, I mean)

Sign and trade wouldn't be bad if its for MoT, Rose or JYD straight up. Remember, the new trade rule is 25%, so lets hope James' salary starts around 25% LOWER than the guy we're sending back. If he starts at around MLE $$, the only difference is he'd get a bigger annual raise. I guess that's a fair tradeoff for losing one of our excess PFs

The contracts that would match up best are JYD and Rose. Hopefully it will be Rose.

there is NO WAY IN HELL we bring in walker now with LB as the coach. he would quit right on the spot.

believe it or not, I think Walker would do very well with Larry. Walker does 2 things very well that Larry loves; rebound and pass. He's got a lot of nice scoring moves aside from chucking 3's followed by the shimmy.

Maybe LB point blank says he doesnt want him, but I can definatly see Walker having a good role here. He's a great MLE player. Not a star but can be very productive and is versatile

How do you figure? I know YOU don't want want Walker, but why dont you think he wants Walker?

Follow Up: Do you think a demanding coach like Brown is going to be happy with a front-line of bench players and rookies?

P.S. Signing and trading for James is a much better move than signing him outright.

I remember reading somwehre (so take it with a grain of salt) that Seattle might loose Reggie Evans.

If thats the case, Rose would be a nice replacement. He fits right in into the way their bigs play, burising defensive minded rebounders, which basically what Rose is.

If we can get rid of Rose while gettin James IT will get an A+ for the summer. That trade alone would make up for passin up on guys to take Frye.

As for the MLE, mabye they found out that some guys that were originally going ot have deals are having touble finding takers for more then the MLE and think they can bring in a talented player.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Well, rethinking my earlier position, I guess it's better to have Walker at the MLE and James at slightly above deal than to have James at MLE and any of Rose/Mo/JYD at above MLE deals. If it is a S/T, I hope it's for Rose. but doubt it due to length of contract. Still even if it's JYD, it's a better move than the MLE outright for James and it clears out some of the PF glut.

I've stated before that I could live with Walker at the MLE, hopefully Larry can get him to change his game and play inside more.

you're 100% right. LB has shown that he can adapt to his players and what goes for jamal goes for toine, if they keep chucking, they'll be sitting.

with that said, i'm hoping we move in a different direction than bringing in toine for 5 years.

Yeah, no kidding they want to make it a sign and trade. We've all known that since they came to an agreement with JJ. The only problem is they have no interest in anybody we have and are willing to trade.

When the JJ signing was reported it was also reported that the Knicks preferred to do a sign and trade but it was highly unlikely. So why are you posting 2 week old news and acting like it's some breaking news story?

Because I heard this from a source in the know, and not from a newspaper, Jerky. I heard they are still working feverishly to make that happen, but evidently you know more about what Seattle wants and what the Knicks are trying to do because you read the newspapers.

Why don't you go crawl back into your gloomy cave, and commiserate with other pessimists instead of asking me stupid a.ss questions about why I posted something?

I forgot how tight you are with the Knicks front office. Like the fact that they're trying to make it a sign and trade is some kind of info that only the inner circle at MSG, including yourself of course, has insight on.

What's wrong with what I said? Is this something new or was this widely reported 2 weeks ago? Not only that but isn't it pretty obvious that the Knicks would want to make it a sign and trade so they still have the MLE? I'm just curious why it was posted as if there was something new to report. Why are you guys taking offense to that and instead insulting me the way that you are?
