where? who called marbury a chucker? the word CHUCKER started when we got Q and someone started with the antoine walker and it was great 3 CHUCKERs meaning Walker Crawford Q. Marbury has always been a reasonable FG% player.

First of all Briggs, and all my people from the innercity can attest to this (raise your hands), but the term chucker is common in naeighbothood urban courts. To chuck actually means to NOT pass the ball to teammates. Go to the hood and you'll hear people saying 'come on man, stop chuckin'. That means give the ball up. This is why Iverson's friends call him Bubba Chuck.

Kenny Smith has used the term talking about a lot of guards games on national televison...Kenny's from LeFrak. Marbury has been called a chucker because people say he shoots to much and doesn't get other players involved.

'Chucking' did not start here Briggs lol. Sorry to tell you.

I can't believe you thought the term 'chucker' started on this board lol. I can't get over that one. I can remember that term as easrly as the 80's. I know you like basketball. Go up to the Rucker games...you'll hear it. Whoever brought that term up here will tell you. It may have been new to you....but trust me, it's not new man lol

I remember there was someone on this board who thought the 'kool aid' concept started here. They weren't familiar with Jim Jones lol. But it's cool. Ya learn something new everyday.

Here's an exert from an silly article in 2001:

January 26, 2001 - Lakers 113, Nets 101

Duh...Good Effort!

The Nets fans' lament. That's what we have left to look forward to for the rest of the season. Yes, the Nets played harder, smarter, and with heart, but it still wasn't enough to overcome Team Turmoil, thanks to an unexpected guest to the party - Isiah Rider. Oh, Shaq and Kobe (damn, Kobe is a CHUCKER extraordinaire) were there too, and they did their thing, scoring 26 points apiece.

"chucker" - A noun
1 an individual that prefers shooting over passing.
e.g. "That player's a chucker, not a passer."

origin: ultimateknicks.com forums.

Nate Robinson - drafted #21 by the Phoenix Suns and traded to the NY Knicks along with Quentin Richardson in exchange for Kurt Thomas.

*special note: scouted first by BRIGGS of ultimateknicks.com

Sorry, I must protest. Getting one's freak on is a commonly used expression and something I do quite frequently.

Hand raised! My name and quote refer to my street ball days. Chucker as Thelonius has eloquently explained above has always been used this way for as long as I can remember and I'm in my 40's.
