Interesting that one part of the championship backcourt, and the mellow guy at that, couldn't co-exist with Larry over time. Isiah seems like much more of a hothead and control freak. I don't see this marriage lasting more than two years.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Not of late from what I have heard. Dumars was very fed up with him too.

Right now its a perfect marriage with the Knicks and Larry but lets check back in a year or two when Larry wants a divorce. Put it this way Larry cheated on the Pistons with the Cavs and the Knicks. Lets check back when Larry cheats on the Knicks how the fans will feel or Isiah if he is still around and Dolan.

What LB did to the Pistons was just plain BS and we were the benefactors of his BS so its ok right now. Lets hope he hangs around the Knicks for 3-4 years that will be a miracle. I like Larry and his coaching abilities but the cat is a cheat Knicks would be wise to keep their options open from day one. It scares me to think that Herb is an option.

no matter how great Larry is, he broke one of the unwritten rules in coaching....never talk negotiations when your team is going championship. imo, that selfish act cost detroit the championship.

I can't see Larry finishing his coaching career anywhere other than in NY. He's been dreaming about coaching in NY for a long time now all the chips fell in place. Now there's no reason for him to go from team to team. The only way it goes sour is if Larry and Isiah disagree and it gets heated like for example Larry wants Marbury or Crawford traded but Isiah does not. I think Isiah has the upmost respect for Larry so he'll definitely listen to his imput as long as it gets us closer to a championship. I mean honesty what better place for Larry to end his career than in NY! you gotta figure at 66 this will be his last stop. The knicks need to do everything possible to build a championship calibur team in the meantime

I wouldn't like for my head coach to be in discussion with another team, especially while the Pistons were in the playoffs, either.

Both Dumars and Brown held a professional responsibility to the Detroit Pistons.

Davidson was right to fire Brown.

Probably, but I'm glad he did.

Sort of an ego thing going on in Detroit. Many in the Piston organization believed that Brownbag received too much credit for that championship. Listen to the players comments, Davidson comments, sort of like Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson at that fateful reception where Johnson told him to just sign the checks. Or the Boss with Torre. Dumars problem with LB is simple, an european kid with the best sit in the house. Though now with these trade rumors about the young man, I would say point to LB. BTW, the Hawks Billy Knight flatty deny any interest in Darko.

darko is garbage. like I've said before if he was at all decent Larry would've given him some minutes. He's so bad they couldn't afford to risk losing which is why he only got garbage minutes

I'm glad Brown was fired also because the Knicks needed a head coach just as bad as Lebron James needs a playoff appearance.

Rumors of Darko being offered turned out to be false.

why the grant larry permission to talk to Cleveland?

I would never ever let my coach do such a thing. I would turn down any such request, and just demand the coach knock it off at the first moment.

Detroit was not innocent victom here, they orchestrated and wanted out of larry's contract. They did not want their coach to heal!

I can understand it takes two to divorce and both are at fault.

I see two real big egos involved here in Larry and Isiah. And funny but both think they are experts at the point guard position. Let's see who gets to call the shots with the likes of Stephon and Crawford. Isiah brought them in, Larry may want to send them out.

I agree it was a BS move. It was bad on both a prefessional level and on a personal level. However, I don't think the Pistons lost to SA because of that. I don't think it was even a major contributor to their loss.

I couldn't care less though. As long as LB helps the Knicks get deep into the playoffs for 2-3 years I'm a happy fan.
