for the Utah 2006 pick the Nets 2006 pick and a Portland restricted 2008 pick

that takes 27 MILLION $ off their back end of Miles contract, gives us a young talented long athletic player who i believe can flourish under a Brown type System and lets us stockpile picks we can use in case a top tier player becomes available OR we cabn continue stockpiling OUR talent through the draft--giving us the ability to really move up if we want or pushing the picks on teams for futures.

The Blazers got the 2006 picks for nothing and a 2008 plus Miles talent should be well worth the 27 mm in the back end.

you start putting guys like miles ariza Frye on the court, you get some real length out there

next year in the draft we can go after a nice sized bruiser/shot blocker who can rebound and a skill big.

you realize that's more picks than the Raptors got for Carter, right? I think that's too much too ask.

If we could get ONE of those picks, I'd consider it. You know they want to lose Darius at this point.

ya....try convincing that to Larry Brown...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

jyd for miles
jyd for patterson

WHERE DO I SIGN?!??!

getting anything of real value for jyd or rose at any other position would be a plus.

but now, you gotta dump tim ASAP and i would then try to package ariza (since we have dmiles already) and make lee the backup SF.

JYD for Miles is a great ****ing trade for us if they want it. But whats with all of those picks? What makes you think they give up the talent AND all of those picks, I mean damn, Darius is a good basketball player.

Atleast two picks if not three. we got two picks for malik rose, so that should be the standard i could care less whatb toronto got sckered into, the going rate is 2#1 picks or we can just skip it and let them keep him.

I have less use for Miles than Tim Thomas at this point. At least Tim has a jumper.

Darius plays D, and we already have our jump shooter in Q.

I wouldn't want Darius unless I absolutely knew Tim wasn't going to be here. Frankly, I'd rather give Ariza more minutes. If we give Ariza minutes early in the season and it's not working, this is a trade I'd think about at the trade deadline.

And that was a steal, imo. But him for JYD is a steal as well, I cannot see any picks coming our way though, it doesn't make any sense at all.

two picks for the 27 MILLION on the back end of the contract--they dont want miles, and he has a large contract they havent been able to move. the picks are a KEY part, because it gives us other large amno in CASE a scenaruio where we can either tRADE for an elite frontcourt player with multiple assets, or have the ability to package to move up in a draft for a frontcourt player of choice. 2 pick minimum and Id rather have it 2006+2007 instead of just 2006.

I'd try it, but it wouldnt be a deal breaker for me. Id do it straight up if thats what it boiled down to and I still think its a steal. We have LB, Miles would be our Tayshaun with more explosiveness and less jumpshot.

Nah, 2 picks or no deal. they have like 5 SFs and they dont like Darius. Teams are cheap--the going price in the league for taking on contracts of the unwanted is two picks.

various deals in the past 5 years, for instance the Malik Rose deal, The deal from Pheonix to Utah for Gugliotta etc.... 27 MILLION is a LOT of $ to get rid of. To me its part of a deal that i would be interested because my ultimate goal is to get enough assets to getan elite big man in the lague or another high caliber big man draft pick.
If they want OUT of that contract, they will have to pay, or they can keep him. Crp Portland just got a first round pick frm the Nets for nothing but as a conduit in a S+T for a salary exemption, and they were able to sck 3 picks from utah for number 3.

Not the best fit for Larry. Intruiging though.

Mo Taylor comes off the cap a year earlier. This deal would not only give us a 3 that would complement this squad but we would also remove some of the glut we have at the 4. There is no spot on this team for Mo Taylor but JYD can really give us some nice things off the bench. He's going to be one guy that Larry Brown really likes.

Mo Taylor for D Miles and 2 future picks -- where do I sign?

He'll play defense, he'll rebound, he's tough, he'll provide energy, and best of all he'll kick TT to the end of the bench. We don't need scoring from the 3 but we do need defense and rebounding to help out the lack of perimeter defense and Frye's lack of rebounding. Somebody brought this up in another thread but can you imagine Q and Dmiles doing their fist to head thing in the garden after an allyoop and while they're doing that Nate Robinson steals the ball in the opposing backcourt and slams it home. Talk about an exciting team...

i just dont get why portland would do this deal. 3 1sts just to clear a little money. sounds obscene. portland can afford to pay players(their payroll isnt that high). besides, who would portland start at SF? wouldnt they rather play miles over patterson?
