I posted something about this a while back.

What if Crawford is traded in a packedge to get a power forward? Houston would have a role......back-up shooting guard behind Q.

If Crawford was traded, we go to option B- 3 guard rotation of Marbury, Nate, and Q.

while i hold no animosity towards al because of his "salary", he was one of my favorite players, but i can honestly say he's done. i hate to say it, and in all honesty it pains me to say it, but he's done. hopefully he proves me wrong. even if it's w/another team .

All Hail the Allan Houston Rule! Isiah will make it happen, at long last.

It'll save the Knicks $40M over the next 2 yrs. We also just got Q. It's as good as done.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

besides, why would we trade craw? a young energetic, athletic shooting guard that in my opinion can be molded in to a more consistent player in order to rely on allan houston. did'nt we try that already?

crawford can be curtailed, but he can't enter some sort of metamorphesis where he becomes a whole different player. crawford will never be more than a slightly below average defender, and at this point, with his salary, I don't think we can afford to have him AND Marbury manning the backcourt for most of the game...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Craw will stay until it's determined whether Steph has to be dealt.

let me put it this way...

there was some sort of photo shoot for some season ticket holders. they were asked to wear some knicks stuff for promotional use. when asked what kind of knicks gear they had to wear, a particular ticket holder said he had a h20 jersey. the response from the msg photo department was "i don't think that would be a good idea".

take that for what it's worth.

I hate Allan Houston......I dunno if you guys know that. i absolutely hate him and I wanted him traded before his first contract was up and I wanted him to walk before Layden locked him up with the second one......
Seems like everyone already closed the book on Allan Houston. Which is fine by me.

Still, Crawford is a tradable asset right now. Marbs, Q, and Nate will demand minutes so I think he would be the odd man out if one out of the 4 will have to go....if that was the case.....old man Houston would be ok to fill in and become the 3 pt specialist he was born to be.

Houston looks more or less done because of his injuries. This offseason he is not even saying he will come back. I'm taking it as a sign even he is coming to terms with reality of not being physically able to play basketball again.

Hating him is kinda unfair though. I kinda hate him, too, but its not really his fault he got that contract and became a living embodiment of the terrible Knicks of the recent seasons.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Hate is a strong word but I don't really hate him as a person because I don't know him. As a player......oh yeah I hate him.

Oh yeah as a player I can't stand him. He never played a lick of D, never rebounded even though he is a 6 7 SG, and never learned how to dribble, could never pass, and dribbled the ball of his foot in like every game at least once.

He was really one dimensinal, as in shooting was his only skill. He could get his shot of by himself thogh, and was good enough at shooting to put up 20pts in a season. There are pleny of guys like him out there. They just don't get nearly as much money. Back in the 80's or 70's he would prolly fit right in.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

You are very wrong there son....RIP was a very good defender. I have been following his career for a while now...This dude only improved one thing about his game or better yet, I would only credit Brown for helping this kid to maximize his talent. However, don't say that Brown turned RIP into what he is. Have you ever watched RIP when he played with Jordan???

if allan can produce, even if its in a role like Kerr or Paxon where he spots up to keep defenses honest at certain times, he'll probably be kept on the roster.

Look for Penny to be dumped- I doubt that both ending deals can get used this season- do the math on the kind of contracts that might come back.

Penny saves half as much as a released houston, but, lets say allan can do something this year- next season, Allan is an ending deal and tradeable.

Keeping Allan is almost like moving Penny from tradeable this year to next- that to me is looking to make more and more sense.

Now, if Allan is gimpy and can't even play against nbdl talent, he is probably gone faster than you can type 'IT'.

Per MJ and Doug Collins, RIP was a below average defender. One of the many reasons he was traded. He actually think both those guys for pointing out his faults which help him improved but if you notice in the playoffs RIP (maybe due to injury) slacked off on the defensive end.

Wasnt MJ the one who picked Kwame, then destroyed him? And collins was his side kick.

MJ - greatest competitor of all time, not such a good GM or talent evaluator.

I still like H2O and if he can still shoot the rock, then lets keep him because his salary doesn't come off the books, it just count against the cap, hell we can't even fill his spot due to the cba rules.
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!
