Herb has a seat, but who else?




Larry Brown's impending arrival will lead to several changes on the Knicks' bench.
Interim coach Herb Williams is expected to be named Brown's top assistant, but the status of the rest of Williams' staff from last season is uncertain. Brendan Suhr is likely headed to the front office while Michael Malone, Mark Aguirre and George Glymph are expected to be retained in some capacity.

According to sources, Brown is expected to hire Dave Hanners and Phil Ford, who worked under him in Detroit. Another one of Brown's assistants in Detroit, Pat Sullivan, is expected to join Lawrence Frank's coaching staff with the Nets.

Williams interviewed Paul Westphal, the former Suns and Sonics coach and current Pepperdine coach, three weeks ago and was prepared to name him his top assistant. With Brown now set to take over, there is still a possibility that Westphal will be hired because Westphal impressed Isiah Thomas.

Look for Herb to take over in 2 yrs ! This is Herbs official training session ! He should be our coach for the next 10 yrs with LB tutoring him over the next 2 yrs !

Dido, there is speculation that Gar is going to retire. Either way it is Herb's gig because LB will retire in 2 yrs due to health like Hube Brown did

It depends. LB has always left situations rather than wait for the other shoe to drop. Generally he leaves them in better shape than he arrives. It's possible that the KNick situation maybe appealing to another big time coach when LB leaves. Herb could get a chance at another Head coaching job somewhere else. Isiah could get fired or leave and the new GM could clean house.

My only question is when did Herb morph into Donny Baseball. If this is about giving your favorite ex players a chance I would really like to see Starks as a coach, the guy has actual experience as a head coach too. Or just make Ewing the head coach and Herb backing him up.

Hey, Ewing........... I forgot about the big fella, well maybe he comes back to continue LB success or maybe even LB hires him now to boost ticket sales, purify LB's own legacey by bring the prodical son home !

Who cares who is top assistant is? If they get blown out in their home opener he's getting fired anyway.

What I don't understand is if Dido is so confident in the team why does he need to post that he is right and everybody else is a hater every freakin day?

Its gettin annoying really. Like everybody who comes here doesnt love the Knicks. Its ridiculous really.

OMG, how can anybody be this dumb!

You missed the point of the post 100%, its either you just did not understand the english again, or you need to read it again.

The point was that anybody who comes here on a regular basis is a huge Knick fan otherwise they would not bother being part of a forum about the team.

Its called having a mind of your own and critical thinking, something you apparently don't have as all you do is repeat what IT says and your own little mantras, such as "trade KT", or "TT breakout game today!", blabh blabh blabh, you havent said anything constructive yet in your entire tenure on the forum. Before you started posting I never thoght anybody can be that much out of their mind!

i think you misread what he wrote..i believe he was trying to say that everyone who comes to this board loves the knicks, and that just because someone doesn't like the direction of the team doesn't mean they aren't a true fan, and that some of you guys who worship the ground isiah walks on are being pretty obnoxious and stubborn.

It's like everyone is in a circle having a good time and you toss a wet blanket on top of everyone to kill their high.

Just because you guys got nothing to do but gripe, don't get mad at us for telling you to shove it and take it elsewhere.

yeah...more like a circle jerk with isiah in the center. im not trying to rain on anyones parade, im really happy we got larry brown
and i commend isiah thomas for waiting the situation out,and i like a bunch of his moves, but if someone disagrees thats their right. the fact is the team lost a lot of games last year and people have the right to be skeptical. just because someone doesnt like isiah's moves doesnt mean hes not a knicks fan. some of you sound like those hicks calling anyone that disagrees with the government "unpatriotic"
