Chad Ford To Leave ESPN
26th July, 2005 - 5:25 pm
Christopher Reina/RealGM - Multiple sources have confirmed that Chad Ford, NBA Insider for ESPN.com will be leaving his post in the coming weeks.

He will become a professor of international conflict
resolution at Brigham Young University-Hawaii.

Representatives from ESPN could not be reached for comment on Tuesday evening.

Ford joined ESPN in 2001 when sportsTALK.com became ESPN Insider, a subscription based service on the site.

Ford previously was the executive editor of sportsTALK.com, an internet sports site he co-founded with Jason Peery.

Prior to his role with sportsTALK, Ford graduated from Georgetown Law School, after earning a degree in history from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in 1995.

His NBA coverage has taken him all over the world scouting international talent and he has routinely broken important free agent signings and trades.

Though sometimes disputed, Ford’s impact and influence on NBA news has become unquestionable. He has always delivered valuable information to his audience.

No word yet on who ESPN will tap to replace him.

Christopher Reina is the executive editor of RealGM.com and may be reached at Christopher.Reina@RealGM.com.

I am shocked.

But it begins to make sense...
Ah... with the success of Darko, comrade Nikoloz, and Rasho. And with the upcoming stars of Pavel, Martynas and Zarko. As he so correctly predicted. There was nothing left for our Chad to do. He correctly predicted the trade of Marbury, and that Brown will stay a Piston. He destroyed Isiah. Oh course Riley was foolish to take Wade over Lampe. Only our Chad knew. Your job is done, you have enlighten not just a nation but the world. Godspeed! There are still other issues in the world like ongoing war on terror, maybe you can size up terror cells threats and demonstrate how superior they are to the American military based on their use of fundamental strategy.

guy did a greta job, while he did get some scoops, and did travel the globe filling in on international prospects, he did write a good entertainment piece. this is a nobody who via a small website became a big mouthpiece concerning the nba.

it was entertaining to hear him call out guys like isiah, jerry west paul allen--how many schmucks on this earth get a chance to rip *famous people* like that and get paid to do it!

AMEN!! PREACH!!!

...some of us have ben praying for Chad Fraud's ESPN downfall for a long time. I got tired of that cat hating on my team quite some time ago.

Good Riddance.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
