How about this:

we trade houston for finley, the mavericks wave houston, we keep finley. The mavs save 12 million. I don't know if the salaries match, but what about the general concept?

I wouldnt mind it but how many SG's do the Knicks really need? The backcourt is close to being crowded already with Steph/Nate Craw/Q/Reezy.

I like the concept because Finley is still a very produtive player but I'm not so sure the Knicks need his 12 million on the books when they have a glaring need for a dominant PF on the team. 5 Guards all deserving playing time (not including Penny, 6 with him) is plenty for the Knicks right now.
