Allan Houston to Philly for Deke - according to today's papers, AI is calling for another shooter on the 76'ers. Basically, in philly, houston could play the 3 spot, as they usually run a 3 guard lineup...

I'd rather trade AH for Coleman (ending contract) and Samuel Dalembert instead of Ol' Deke with 3 years and 50 mil to look forward to.

true... but coleman is crap. deke's contract, despite ending in 3 years, he is solid in the middle for NY, and teamed with camby at PF, should be decent, and we can always try and trade deke for another young baller and or picks to orlandough.

If your the Knicks you want to stay away from Mutombo. He is a defensive weapon but the man got torched by Celtics center. Offensive liability has no consistent offense. I say the Knicks move on and not think about Mutombo. Besides what is his real age I think he has to be 40 something.

Mutombo just can't get it done on the offensive side of the floor. You trade Houston and the Knicks offense which is already bad become worse with Mutombo. The only one that is going to shoot is Spree. I guess he would have to assume an AI role.

I love Houston but I'd trade him for Mutombo any day of the week. His contract is shorter, he gives us much-needed rebounding and shot-blocking. I serioulsy doubt Philly would even consider this trade...

I would trade houston for a bag of pretzels. Dont get me wrong, he's a baller... but his contract makes him one of the most overpaid players in the game with Kemp and Zydrunas. If we could get Deek I would love it. Even and old slow deek is better than our Center by commitee. He will also add some toughness and attititude that was lost when we got rid of charles and mase.

I dunno, Deke looked really old and slow this season and its bound to get worse.
