IT has stated that he will prepare for one big move and i think Garnett is the big player he is targeting. I am not saying we will get him, or even have a good chance to get him, but i think IT feels he is gathering the pieces to trade for him. Minny doesn't seem to be upgrading the roster for the near future, and Garnett is probably wondering what is going to happen to his team. It wouldn't be a big surprise if we see a rumor pop up in the next month sometime. With the focus so heavily on LB and our coaching situation, the trade front has been very quiet. Once LB is hired and everything is figured out, IT will try to aquire another big star to give Brown a legit team to work with. I would gladly trade nearly any combination of players, picks, and so forth to get Garnett, as well as take back any of their bad contracts. Something like Thomas, Hardaway, Crawford, Sweetney, Ariza, and future picks as well as cash for Garnett, Szczerbiak, Hudson, and Hassel. We are taking back nearly all their long contracts and giving them expiring contracts, plus a nice foundation with Crawford, Sweetney, and Ariza for their future. Garnett's role is obviously, while Wally will start at the 3, a guy IT has always liked, Hassel will provide nice defense off the bench at the 2 and 3, and Hudson will provide a nice scoring spark off the bench. This is the type of team we need to compete for a championship with.

C James, Frye, Butler
PF Garnett, Lee, Rose, Taylor
SF Szczerbiak, Lee, Hassel, JYD
SG Richardson, Hudson, Hassel
PG Marbury, Robinson, Hudson

And how do you justify thAT...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

If Garnett gets put on the block or demands a trade it will be an truly explosive situation and half the NBA will be make bids (including Isiah). But we've already gone to realgm.com and worked out all the trade scenarios in our head and have dreamed it could happen. But a lot of dominoes have to fall before we take any further speculation more seriously.

I agree this is just total speculation based on hints that have been dropped in the past month (IT stating he wants another star, the possibility of Garnett being on the block and the knicks undoubtedly being interested.) I guess i'm just bored because of all the coaching talk and no trade rumors going around. I always invision the roster being slightly better no matter how good it is and us making another move before the summer is over. With no trade rumors floating around, this is the best thing i can think of to put us in great position for a run.

LOL but thats how we do things well get KG when he is 38 and sign him to a 5 year sign and trade for the number 1 pick in 2013

if we wanted to get a 20-12-3 player that we couldve had for 12-14 yeasr we just bypased him in the draft.

totally. no teams want to trade a star to NY and watch them explode.

yeah, who are you talking about? Marvin Will from UNC? I think he could be a bust. He never did anything that impressed me at UNC - actually, i thought he was kind of a scrub. Shows you how decimated the college game is right now - no NBA talent there anymore - sucks. Really, anyone who would have been a monster in college jumped straight to the NBA.

Bynum's only gonna get 20 a game? I thought the chump was worthless. Him with that big fat WImpy body. Pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today - F him!!

Give me Frye anyday - that itty bitty little head of his - he's gotta concentrate on what's going on man - there ain't room in that tiny skull for a lotta extra thinkin - he stays focused. Don't find his mind wanderin onto hamburgers or any of that shyte. Hmmph.

Lets say Garnette became available, lets say for for conversation sakes, the knicks with all these pieces they have still won't have a offer as good as what most teams would put together. Just imagine, I could see larry bird ,offer up Jermain oneal and Artest for garnett, that would definately grab the wolves attention, plus the pacers would still have talent and a good coach to surround garnett with, or a team like the nets could do a Vince carter, kristic, and RJ for garnett and fillers and still be fine. I mean this is what we probably would have to contend with, could you imaging the nets with Garnett, wally, kidd and SAR, not bad at all, not bad....

I think IT is holding out for Garnett.
