Nate - Phenomenal athlete. Stop & start abilities of a dynamic punt returner. Surprisingly nice form on shot. NY will love this kid.

Lee - Nice player. The fact that he's ambidexterous around the hoop is a big plus. Somebody on this site mentioned Oakley as a comparison. I think he has more of a Anthony Mason game (potentially). That said, I think he could easily add and definitely benifit from 20 lbs.

Frye - Need to move his feet on D. Had poor technique on D ( a grabber). Very nice hands & touch. Also noticed him going to the left hand quite a bit. Needs to join Lee in the weightroom.

Butler - Nice hands & touch, but doesn't seem to have much of a vertical leap. Seems to struggle finishing in traffic as a result. Could this be why he wasn't drafted?

Ariza - Developing well. I like the fact that he was taking it to the rim off the dribble (as opposed to just putbacks). Still, I think the development of his offensive repetoire will define him as JYD type (strictly a role player who is far better on the defensive end) or a Marion type.

excellent points. Lee is being groomed to play SF with our glut at PF. He's got great handle! it seems like Nate hits every 3 he shoots!

Lee is quite an interesting player. Going into the draft I really though he could play some minutes as a backup C and as energy PF. Florida had a very talented scoring team so he was a little restricted in his ability to freelance, but he was a highly touted HS player and has seemingly showed that he does have the ability to also play SF. In that way he is similar to JYD in that he has the versatility to play a lot of frountcourt positions, but is probably more talented offensively (maybe less so defensively, though still pretty good). I think Larry Brown would really love his effort/intensity/versatility.

I was actually impressed with Butler's lines. Had some dominating rebounding numbers in short minutes and a very impressive shooting percentage. Maybe with another year or so of development he can develop into a hardworking low post PF in the Sweetney mold.

Ariza really needs to develop a jump shot. He has such a great complementary game...putbacks, nice dishes, good fast break finisher, good effort on D, gets steals. If he could develop a somewhat reliable jumper so that teams can't double team him, he'll definitely be an NBA starter and a "glue" guy.

Frye is talented on the offensive end. Good shot, good hook, good passer. He'll never be a dominant rebounder but if he can get 7/8 in starting minutes thats ok. He's not as advanced defensively as some people thought he was. You're right...he's got some issues with fouling and timing. Really needs more experience. Larry Brown actually has a pretty good track record with developing defensive players in the front court- The Davis Boys in Indiana, Theo Ratliff in Philly and has worked will with the Wallaces in Detroit (they were already tremendous defensive players, but Brown really got Rasheed in particular to play great team D and turn it up a level).

Nate...what can you say. Exciting playmaking guard that will hopefully force the Knicks hand to play him.

I was really impressed with the 3 picks, and Butler and Ruben. Butler and Rubes are the kind of guys we should have competing for those last spots. Butler is a natural rebounder and Reuben can fill it up.
