i think people underestimate this guy as a weapon. he is just on another plain in terms of shooting the ball, a skill that seems to be lost somewhere in the 90s

May also had another 25+13

maybe some fundamental basketball will slowly creep back into the nBA--i will say the magic blew it taking vazquez over may--they couldve moved howard to 5 and installed may as a perfect compliment at 4.

if atlanta dos get dalembart and joe johnson you are looking at

dalembart
Smooth
Childress
Johnson
Lue
Collier
M Williams
Diaw
Stoudemire

egads that could be scary.

that would be scary and I always liked Salim, the kid can ball, but take collier and Diaw off that list, collier is a stiff, I follwed that kid since his days at GTech.... diaw is nothing speical either....

Wow thats very impressive. Can't say I'm disappointed the Knicks didn't get him becuase we got Lee instead but it would have been nice to have another pick really early in the 2nd round to take him. This kid is going to be an absolutely lethal weapon coming off the Hawks bench.

He's ben gordon without the athleticism, with a better jump shot. He'll be a bobby jackson type.

IMO think Mahmoud Abdul Rauf- Undersized combo G, but an explosive shooter/scorer. I think Salim brings that to that to the table without being hindered by Tourette's Syndrome(which Rauf unforftunately was afficted by), and with a stronger frame.

I think the decision was not Lee or Stoudemire for Isiah but Nate or Salim. As Rich pointed out Zeke did have an eye on him, but we could only really afford take one undersized G and Nate is better suited to play PG as he is more of a playmaker. Salim, however, will also be a very interesting player to watch on the NBA level.

Wow, funny you bring up Rauf. Remember him in college as Chris Jackson?

He was without a doubt one of the greatest college players I have ever ever seen. He was insanely good. Ridiculously good. His pro career really busted but for his couple of years in NCAA he totally blew me away.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

He actually had a few good seasons where he averaged at least 18 pts. Yes he was Chris Jackson before he converted to Islam, and yes he did refuse to stand up for the national anthem, which caused quite a stink. If I have my timing correct, it was after that which began a rapid decline where he went from a great scorer to out of the NBA in a flash.

But the guy really could shoot when he was on...I mean nothing but net every time. I remember reading the Tourette's basically made him turn into a huge perfectionist...that's why he only went for swishes. He also hit for 95 or 96% on FT's one year. The one big story about him was that he would tie his shoes like 100 times before every game because he wanted to get them perfect.
