What do you think about this?
I think its a good possibilty.Ariza shows that he can play some defense and is starting to have a jumper.

To me, Trevor is a cross between a short version of Marcus Camby and kind of a Tayshawn Prince except a little more exuburant. He's a unique player like that. He has to learn to control himself though. He needs to do that JUST AS MUCH as learning the jumper. If he doesn't do this, then he's Shandon Anderson.

can a panther challenge a lion for king of the jungle?

4 yrs at Kentucky turned Prince into Prince.

hopefully he helps Trev develop a defensive stance instead of runnng so stiff-back all the time. Perhas then he could react as fluidly to Wade's cross as Prince does and avoids being a part of his highlight reel again next season.

actually, i think he played wade quite well w/the limited time he played him. he did'nt shut him down, but who could shut down a player of that caliber?
prince on the other hand has had a 3point shot since college. i just did'nt know he could defend that well one on one until he got to the league. all and all i think he has the mobility, height, and the length to be that TYPE of player.

Another thing Prince had coming out was good court vision and good ball-handling skills. Very suprised by his overall athleticism. H emay very well be a product of playing for some of the games best coaches and teams on the college and pro level but after 2 trips to the Final I gotta admit he plays the role extremely well.

i'm confident trevor can play at about that level because he also only had 1 year of college, and not playing anywhere near the competition prince did.
btw, don't be fooled. trevor has more handle than you think. you may not have seen much due to playing time, and his position, but he played point guard for a time in college. and he's an excellent passer. some people may say we need a sf and trevor can back him up. in givin' time we may just need someone to back up trevor. time will tell though, he's a smart kid.

Yeah he did play Wade very well I was gonna say that. H efollowed Wade to the basket very closely and swatted his shot at the basket. He has the potential to be a great defender.

Good comment!

Ariza still can't dribble or shoot or score without throwing up a shot that looks like he caught a seisure in the air...... His defense is is not as cat like as Prince. Brown can't turn him into anything.....Ariza has a long way to go still.

Prince was an ready made player when he got to Detroit. If anything Brown instilled in him the confidence for Prince to blossom into the threat he is.....that is what Brown is known for.

Spree! What are you talking about?! daddynel knows where it's at with this kid.

And Prince -I love the guy, but he didn't drop to 23 for nothing. There were all sorts of question marks about him in college. And Trevor actually had a better rookie year than Prince. Prince had his coming out party in one playoff series during his rookie year.

Put me down in the box that's marked Trevor Ariza = Knicks starting SF 2006-2015.

May we all be around then for me to say told 'ya!!

if such a box exists it has David Lee's name on it or some other 3 worthy of starting that we may trade for. Ariza has I provide energy and bench depth written all over him.

Ohh yeah I can see it! Ariza is more than some here think, just an energy player. He was that and more only as a rookie! The sky is the limit on him, and the fact that he is very intelligent, confident that he can be a good player, willing to work hard to become one, and has a great work ethic makes me feel very confident about him. He'll be great soon.

Trevor is a better ball handler and passer than Prince. I've seen both play many, many times. Trevor is a playmaker on the wing at times. Prince makes good decisions, and of course he's a great shooter/defender, but no way is he a better playmaker than Ariza.

And Ariza had a FAR superior rookie season to Prince, 4 years of Kentucky moonshine or no.

I hope Lee makes it. To think that he will start over Ariza who already had a season in the NBA not SL and already turn heads and guarded the best players in the league. Let me see how all the rookies do in an actual season before I tell him where they should be in the rotation. As far as Ariza not doing much in the SL, I guess Al Jefferson is now a bust.

Prince has the best instincts in the NBA. The dude has a knack for being at the right place at the right time. A pleasure to watch.

Reezy has good instincts also but he can far exceed Prince in many ways as he is more athletic. This kid can be an allstar in a few years!
