If the Lakers need a PF we have some...give us Odom and we'll give you TT, Malik, JYD, and a get well card for Turiaf.

Wow that is amazing. Wonder if this condition had anything to do with the guy's injury and conditioning issues in college.

Wow. Good luck to him.

What's with the personal gibes? Go ahead and insult me as much as you please, but I'm not going to get into an argument on the internet with somebody named "bigpimpin". LOL

hey man... you're new. you're gonna take some knocks in here. you could be pope john paul - you're still gonna get some knocks. don't let it bother you.

and if you're new and jump into the frying pan...

well, you're a philosophical guy - you know what happens. take martin's advice and just step back and watch how the board works a bit - that's my best advice (it was actually martin's advice). whatever people say on here, don't take personal.

anyways - any trade proposals will get ripped. there are never any realistic or reasonable trades on here. not even worth it trying to propose any - just a waste of time really man. that's the truth.

this board basically brings attention to knick related news, people analyze the news and draft picks and rehashes any knick games. even seasoned vets on this board catch heat sometimes when they stray from those topics and hypothesize too much.

welcome to ultimateknicks man. we need some more solid new posters.

Yeah, I notice people take what you say very seriously even if you're just throwing out ideas for discussion.

trial by fire. earn respect. you'll survive, you seem like you know what's up. it's all good and we want to hear what you have to say, especially if you are interesting and have unique points of view.

Three things
1. I hope all goes well with his surgery and whether he can play ball or not, I hope he lives a healthy and productive life.

2. He already signed, so he will have some money, although I don't think all of it is guaranteed. But hey a few 100,000 has never hurt anyone. Had he needed that surgery without the contract and NBA healthcare he woulda been broke like millions of other Americans.

3. I am glad the knicks didn't pick him, we have had some bad luck and this woulda pushed me over the edge. I am not trying to be mean about it, I really wish him the best.

Wow! THis is really so sad! I really pray to God that his surgery is a sucess and he can have a great and long life. Whether he makes it back to the NBA, we'll see, but life is all that matters now.

One thing about all this is that this is scary. How could this condition be discovered if you didn't have all these special tests? His coach said he was in great condition and he sure played well in the summer league. How can you know if something is wrong without these tests?

That sucks so bad.

At least he made it to the NBA and found out. His contract is signed and he's set. Imagine if they found it last yeah he would have been broke with all those medical bills.

Good luck to him.

actually, it read that the contract was void. BUT the lakers were going to "take care" of the medical bills. it's messed up that he's probably still broke, but then it's extremely humane of them to look out for him like that.
all the best to him, this guy plays w/alot of heart <-no pun intended, seriously, he reminds me alot of lee as far as hard-nosed ballplayers are concerned.

His contract will be voided, but the Lakers are likely picking up the medical bills.

Had it happened last year, his parents medical insurance would've/should've covered most/all of it, so I'm not sure it's any better this way. Although it's a nice gesture, what would have been really nice of them is to do what the Bulls did with J-Will, hang onto the contract for a while, before agreeing to void the remainder, so the kid gets a little cash to go along with things.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
