Marb
Q
Ariza, because he plays defense
Frye, because he tries to play defense and block shots
James

Forget about the notion that Brown doesn't play rookies....Brown is a very shrewd coach, and is in it to win...He will put his best players on the court..

it's very interesting to me to think about what his approach to Marbury would be.

WIll he look at him like Iverson and tailor the team to play off of Marbs?

WIll he look at him like Billups and make him more a cog in the whole wheel?

Either way LB brought both of those approaches into the Finals - sure wouoldn't mind him doing that here!

DIdn't it seem like in the Olympis he tried both ways with Marbs? Kept preaching to him to be a Billups, but then when the team needed his offensive dominance, he sure turned him loose with the shot. Hmmmm . . .

I think Larry Brown will find a completely different way for Marbury to play. Marbury is an amazing talent that will finally be realized. Larry Brown made Iversons career and saved Billups. I cannot wait for him to come in. I think this is the best thing that has happened to the Knicks since Ewing left. I hope we dont trade Marbury and I hope he wins a few playoff series. I am getting pumped for this season.

Starting lineup: Marbury, Crawford, Q, Sweetney and JJ. I dont think thats our best lineup but I think thats who LB will run.

I still think TT has the job--Ariza limits the offense too much still until he has a consistent jump shot or post up game.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

TT will have a lot of issues playing for Brown, because he is a liability on defense. He missed a lot of defensive assignments mainly because he approached the opposing player with a lazzy attitude. TT is long enough to be an excellent help defender, but he is soft.

Thats interesting. There is an excellent chance TT starts over everyone at SF but I doubt even LB can save TT.

If Larry coaches here, what are the odds that Ariza is better than Prince by next year!!

I agree but firefly brings up a good point. Ariza's potential ceiling just went up a notch.

Prince is a hell of a player, Larry brought the best out of him. He was well coached prior to his arrival to the NBA, and it shows. Ariza has a lot to learn, he is no where as ready as Prince was.

I think roblackman has driven him over the deep end...he's gone loco.

Also, LB coached marbs in the olympics and had nothing but good things to say about MArbs AND marbs excelled (setting the all time single game scoring record).

He knows how to coach marbs and knows what needs to be done.

Marbs, Q, TT, Frye, James
OR
Marbs, Craw, Q, Frye, James

TT OR Craw starts.

From last olympic summer...good news and bad news?

Marbury spent 90 minutes on his day off working on his long, lost jumper, beating the volleyball team to the practice court. He talked about how hard it was to meet Brown's demands, and how he looked forward to incorporating everything he'd learned from Brown into his game on the Madison Square Garden floor.

Good news bad news...brown is a demanding coach, marbs responds and respects him for it?

I think TT's season also can get made. The man either responds or sits.

Larry will work with all the kids. he loves to teach and while a championship ready team in detroit is one thing, the young'ins here will be more like a college environment! He was great in Kansas and UCLA!

Larry usuually wears out the vets after a while, and to some degree he might have in detroit!

THat franchise must develope Darko and larry might see the kid as a bust, but joe might not!

Larry is a teacher, a college type coach, and with this young squad, if the postential is there, then he will tap it good!

There is no way that Larry plays a rookie Frye at PF over Sweetney and Rose. Brown would also probably cut down on Marbury's minutes, and I'd like to see him get Crawford to move better without the ball.

Again, Brown is a winner, he will play whomever fits his system. If he feels that Sweetney is the better fit at this time, he will play him, but Frye offers something that Larry just used in a guy like Sheed.
