In his last 71 games (all of last year) Tim Thomas had 5 or more rebounds 18 times.
In his last 66 games (last 2 years combined) Nate Robinson had 5 or more rebounds 25 times

Sucks that TT never plays to his potential. Rebounding is a weird category. Some people just know where to be for the rebound. I hope Nate is one of them. I know Alan Houston and Tim Thomas are not.

wow.. I know people are going to say well TT plays in the NBA and nate in the NCAA, but when you take into account that TT is 6'10 and nate 5'9, TT should be ashamed..

That (along with TT's poor defense and mediocre at best scoring) is why I think the team is substantially improved just by giving a lot of TT's (and Craw's) minutes to Q-Rich. (I also think TT in a contract year will play better than last year, especially since he's had time to mentally recover from the family problems he had before last season.)

a backcourt of nate, Q and ariza would probably outrebound any two of our players at the 4 and 5

i agree. the point isn't that nate will outrebound TT at the pro level, it's that nate plays 110% and does all the little things he shouldn't have to as a 5'9 PG, and TT is the opposite.

If or when TT doesn't step up LEE & Ariza would be ready and waiting to step in. He isn't depended on like he was last yr. But in order to have a great season him playing well would be huge.

Tim has gotten his BIG paycheck. He has no heart so what exactly would he play hard for?

don't try and dis Tim now when he came to the Knicks he was an all-star. remember

If anyone can recall the last preseason game of the year when TT drop 38 points in 25 minutes against a jazz team that had everyone. Then he proceeded to start the season on a nightmarish note. Believe me if he stays you will see the TT who played the year before he got this contract. This will probably be his last contract, so think about that when your judging him.

I always remember TT playing hard for the Knicks last year, I just remember him not making shots until late in the year.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

calm down Caseloads,

Sarcasm could walk right up to you and hit you smack dead in the face and you wouldn't even know it.

I've read the countless posts of how Tim Thomas had all of this talent and how he needed a change of scenery and whatever else was said.

he wasn't a good rebounder when he put on a Knicks uni but now people are astonished by his lack of rebounding.

Don't act like you didn't know they made Kool-aid with Sugar! hahahaha

I call for a vote so that nobody ever use again the word potential about TT.
From now we should talk about illusion of talent.

Watching the couple of sl games that Time Warner deigned to televise, you could see immediately that Nate is sick quick and very strong. He's just much faster to the ball than everyone else on the court and can use his body to fend off other players going for the ball. That means he'll get a ton of loose ball rebounds, as well as steals off deflections and any other loose balls. This is an very important ability that's often overlooked. It's part of what makes JKidd so great. And w/ Nate, it could be the same. Once he picks up that loose ball (whether rebound, steal or whatever), he's off to the races and the Knicks have a good chance of scoring or getting fouled. The guy is going to be special, imo.

Forget about Gazy's weaknesses -- we all know them too well -- and focus on the positive here.

TT doesn't WANT to get rebounds. Players who crash the boards are guys that give up their body for a basketball. You need to have heart to do that. TT doesn't really have one.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
