i understand your concerns but he still is one of THE BEST coaches of all time. everywhere...EVERYWHERE he has gone, he has left the team in much better shape than when he arrived.
that's all we can ask for here.
at least, this will stop ANY coach criticisms by fans, media, etc. you can't blame the coach anymore in this situation.
then it will be SOLELY on the roster and the guy that put it together.
hiring him is a pure no-brainer, especially since his salary doesn't affect the cap in any way.
if he can't coach more than one season, then so what. he's still better than any other coach you could've brought here.
