this is one guy i knew would be good. I think he made ALL of those guys on NC look better than they are--he was the best rebounder in the NCAA, hes much more athletic than his frame shows and his hands will immediately be at the top of the nBA big man elite

I guess he will be one helluva 3rd big on the Bobcats

so far he is going 18.5 points 14 rebounds in 28 minutes shooting 55%

I will be surprised. I dont see anyone in the NBA with May's frame playing like Zach does. The closest guy I see is Danny Fortson. Who knows... I never saw anything like Zach's quickness in May. Mostly I saw a guy that pushed around smaller CBB players and was surrounded by the best talent in the NCAA. May has a great head and heart, maybe he's got enough to overcome the fact that he's built a lot like Spoon (who was a good player on bad teams first 5-8 years in the league)

I don't know if Sean May can compare to Zach but he sure can post Zach-like numbers.

Sean May and Okafor on the same team? That's some punishment to hand out opposing frontcourt players. There will be no backing out with the Bobcats big men.

Before the draft I was getting killed for suggesting that the Knicks could conceivably draft May...I think May and Simien are going to contribute right from the get-go. I actually believe Simien will push the Heat over the top next year, he's a big time presence.
And the reply is...a post that makes sense (still waiting)

I really don't want May....May and Sweetney is going to fight for food like two lions fighting for the kill

This is exactly how I feel. Spoon is his ceiling imo, but Spoon was pretty damn good when he first entered the league. It has to be cause for concern that he is not in good shape after 3 years of college.

Look at Deron Williams' body--not every player has a cut physique--consider the Round Mound of Rebound.

Fatmay had a few good games in the summer? Please, this guy bolted cuz his players left him, and he would have not looked good!

Can't say I blame him!

BobCats are my local team, I wish him well, but briggy, stop salavationg all over other players. Sweets is and will be better than him!

Hh cmon, May is a perfect fit for a bust. He is short, fat, and played for a really good program. Just a player who got the hype because of the team he played for.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

It will be fun to use this quote at the end of the season, you will lose all future credibility.

Yes, and put to shame I shall retire from the Internet, can you get any more melodramatic on me here?

Aint no way that Sean May is a better version than Zach Randolph. in the immortal words of Aretha Franklin---there just aint no way.

roblackman... he doesnt look like that anymore. Deron lost about 15 lbs and put on some serious muscle. That was one of the main reasons he shot up the draft board. If May lost 25 lbs and showed up with arms like Antonio Davis I will be the first one to change my thoughts.

Hey.. maybe I'm wrong now, I'm just going on what I see

only Zach Randolph has at least 2inches on him and that makes a world of difference in the nba. Maybe if May was 2inches taller he'd be as dominant as Randolph in the post but 6-8 his skills will go to waste and he's not athletic enough

if zach randolph is 6-8, that would be pushing it. they are close in a lot of ways although one is left handed. May is more athletic, Zach may have more body control/agility--both have great touches, know how to seal defenders with their large shoulders. If it wasnt for May NC wouldve been in the sweet sixteen, he was the best player on the team.

When someone says Spoon, they have no idea. Spoon was a SF coming into this league--Clarence is probably 6-5 and as is weight balloned became a serviceable PF. May knows how to play, has the skill and is much more athletic than people give him credit for--look at the comine athletic #s May was in the top 3-4 in terms of athletic ability for a big man. May dominated evry player he played against last year, Sheldan Williams, Villaneuva, Eric Williams etc... he was more dominant per minute that any post player including bogut.
