With the rumors of Marbury going to atlanta last week, how bout a counter offer of Crawford, Sweetney, and possibly the SA first rounder for Harrington. Atlanta would be putting together a nice team with Crawford starting at the point and Sweetney giving them a nice PF to split time with Williams. We would finally have the well rounded line-up we need and a nice, young starting PF.

C James, Frye, Butler
PF Harrington, Frye, Lee, Rose, Taylor, JYD
SF Thomas, Ariza, Rose
SG Richardson, Ariza, Robinson
PG Marbury, Robinson

Harrington is a tweener that offers nothing in the way of defensive intensity. weakside help is what we need.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Craw, Sweetney & a #1 for Harrington? why? i would deem a straight up offer of Crawford for Harrington perfectly acceptable from a talent for talent standpoint...no need to throw in Sweetney & a pick to boot.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Yup, that is too much for Harrington.. Just do a one for one deal straight up..
Just as bobs3304 said, Harrington doesn't show any type of defensive intensity..

Why not concentrate on other players rather than Harrington? I don't think he is what we need, and obviously not fot that trade...

I think it's gonna take Crawford and at least either Sweetney or a first rounder to get him. Maybe not both, but one or the other. I think i remember IT really liking him after being in Indy. Plus i think he would fit in well here.

Harrington is exactly the type of player this team needs. NY has too many scorers not enough skill. The fact that Harrington can also play the 3 is a plus. Mismatch with the big line-ups. The Pacers use to exploit it well.

And Frye and James both will make their living from the weakside. Still don't see us as having somebody meeting guys at the apex. Not saying Al fills this void but he sure as hell fills most others.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

James is more of an interior defender. Yes, he can block some shots from the weakside, but that was only b/c you had excellent post defenders in Evans and Fortson manning the paint in Seattle. In NY, we'll rely on him to do a little of everything. But with our PF rotation set with mostly interior defenders (JYD, Rose) we need more weak-side help than anything else. I wish there was a way to trade Timmy, etc. for K-Mart. He'd be a perfect fit IMO in NY.

overrating James. he is not a good defender. he is a tall 270 lb hack who'll block shots here and there. he may be of some value in the right zone scheme but since we have no head coach or defensive assts to design one, there goes that idea as well.

He's one of the league leaders in blocks per 48 minutes. If he is anything, it's a pretty solid defender.

you make a good point. but so did i.

i guess what it comes down to is - Will we see James ala the Sacramento series, or James ala the rest of his career prior to that?
