I think that is just Marc Berman creating some news. Notice most of the article says 'the Knicks should take a look'. I doubt Berman got this from anyone in the Knicks organization as Rodgers is still under contract and they can't even talk about him.

Edit...I mistakenly thought it was Isola who whote the artice...my bad.

Does it really say that? It says we should seriously consider using the midlevel exception on him, at least that's the impression I got from the article in the post.

Would be a good signing IF the knicks trade for draft picks and loose KT and or Spoon and or Camby. Othella might use his player opt out as well.

Personally I'd rather split it between some young prospects like Jarron Collins, Kenny Satterfield, Rafer Alston or spend it entirely on Keon Clark if the raps have difficulties resigning him.

I just hope a combination of Eisley, Spoon and Anderson is used to get Ostertag + the 19th pick from Utah, I guess it depends on whether the Jazz get Lopex this season if they will be willing to trade the pick. Ostertag is a yucky player but comes of the books in two years and has more servicable height then Spencer and Knight. I'd like to ship out all the points with maybe keeping Jax but I'm not all that attached to him anymore. Only reason for keeping Jax would be for him to player coach the new young points.

I agree... if we are gona use the exception we might as well use it on a younger player instead of washed up scrubs

Tag is horrible But like you say he will be off the books in 2 years and has plenty of size and is an upgrade over Spencer and Knight. Plus the 19th pick can land us a very good player in this deep draft so I would absolutely love that deal... Rogers is a decent player but he should be used as a last resort. He would be a decent player to sign for the exception.

I think Frank Iosola was throwing ideas out there. We know cant sign Rodgers unless by some freakish trde we got rid of 3 PF's. We already have too many. But the rumored Vin Baker deal we would send 2 PF's and a PG' for Baker. If we get Odom that will cost us Othella plus a pick. So Iosola could be right but right now it doesnt seem likely.

4.6 exception

Ricky Davis probably the Knicks first choice. Jerome James is a possibility. We also have the option of splitting it on 2 players like Oakley and maybe a young backup.

He's probably thinking that Rogers is a big, versatile guy who can play both the 3 and 4. He would be an upgrade over Shandon Anderson for sure, but thats probably not our biggest concern right now.
