it's all we've got, man. and I seem to remember you saying that Petro was an athletic beast at center who we should consider on the basis of a highlight reel.

the highlights didn't show much - except that Nate can pretty much do whatever he wants to, whenever he wants to. Frye and Lee had solid games, Frye made a nice pass to a cutting Douglas. Also, Ruben Douglas had 27pts. I wonder if we should look into signing him or putting him in the NBDL.

Lee is regarded as a great passer. He played some SF at Fla and the thing his coach said when Gus and John had him on the phone was Lee is a great passer. Gus asked him what part of Lee's game would suprise the KNicks and the coach said Lee's passing.

so far the grades

nate robinson=A+ has exceeded expectations no need to add anything here

David Lee B+ plays hard athletic, exposed a few times trying to get his shot off, good passer, finishes strong, rebounds well for his size and in traffic, still hasnt shown a jumper

Channing Frye C- Hasnt played to the level of where he was picked. Has shown nice aggresivness around the basket but results have been mixed. Hasnt dominated what we would call scrubs, has been a consistent fouling machine. inconsistent rebounding-no difference from college one day 9 the next day 4 shot blocking altering has been good against weak competition. FG% has been poor FT % has been fantastic runs the floor great overall very dissapointed by many fundamentals for a 4 year CBB needs to simplify things, concnetrate on his socring touch aroudn the basket, rebounding and discplined defense

overall grade as of now B

I agree. Frye isn't exactly a bust. But as New Yorkers we all hold high expectations for the young guns. It awaits to be seen how this whole summer pans out. To be truly honest though, i don't think Sweetney can hold down the PF spot. He just doesn't have the defensive intensity and athleticism to play 25+ minutes a night consistently. If not this summer, then sometime before the trading deadline, I think you'll see Isiah deal for another Big Man...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

i'd like to add jackie butler to that list.

jackie butler = B is developing GREAT and really uses his body to his full advantage. VERY VERY RAW but this is a kid you hold on to.

the best thing that could happen to frye is to get a MONSTER rebouding PF/C machine that will take ALL the pressure off of him. i think his best complement, right now, would be sweetney b/c he has a good reb/min ratio. (james just isn't on the floor enough).

Channing Frye is not starter material, let alone star-caliber. He seems destined to be a solid role player coming off the bench. Just like a Charles Smith. What we need is to actually trade for a solid rebounder with size and athleticism to man the 4 spot for us. Not sure if that's attainable now or in the future, but it certainly is attainable one way or the other...

We shall see guys.

I think Fryre will be a lot closer to Chris Bosh than Charles Smith.

Frye has nowhere near the explosiveness that Bosh does. In fact, he's looked a step slow in SL so far. His hops aren't impressive either...
