Btw, I'd follow up that trade by waiving Rose, or maybe a swap for Ruben Patterson. We'd still need to find a way to get rid of one last PF, especially with Stro and Wright on board...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I just don't understand how the roster will work out after that trade.

You are gonna have James, Wright and Frye at center alone.

Lets say you play Frye at PF, then you have Rose, Taylor, Lee, JYD, ,Fyre and Swift!

Even if you somehow convince Portland to to take on extra years in a Rose for Patterson swap, and we would probably need to throw in a 2nd round pick in that deal, you would still have Taylor, Lee, and JYD just sitting there out of your rotation 4 man rotation at the 4 and 5.

I mean how are you gonna find minutes?
James 20, Wright 20, Frye 8
Swift 20 Frye 12, Taylor 16
and JYD and Lee just out there doing othing I guess?

I dunno, its a logjam, we would need to do more trades.

It would be a mistake to give Swift that kind of contract. Less chance of cap flexibility in the futue and no closer to a championship.

Hmmm, i'm trying to figure out if there is a way to NOT overpay for Swift. We might HAVE to....if he's our man. This may be why Isiah is exploring Walker as well. Walker would give us more in the stat sheet department than Swift and maybe get paid close to the same (?)

If Isiah wants Swift, and with NJ reportedly wanting Songaila more, he'll be available for the right price. Money is no object, with Marbury staying put.

Here's how I see the minutes (roughly) being parcelled out. I'm assuming 1 other PF will be dealt before then.

James(25), Wright(25)
Swift(25), Taylor(10), Frye(10), Lee(5)
Timmy(20), Ariza(15), JYD( 15)
Q(30), Crawford(25)
Marbury(35), Nate(10)

Frye is, without a doubt, NOT ready to contribute big minutes next year. That's a fact...

WOW! A 13 man rotation? Good Lord, that would be a huge mistake and would show that whoever's coaching has decision making problems to say the least. A rotation should consistantly be around 10 guys per game. 4 guys getting PT at the 4 spot per game? I doubt that.

Lee, Frye, and Nate would get VERY limited minutes. They're rookies, what would you expect...

It's more like a 10 Man rotation.
