In the last paragraph it says this:

"Thomas wouldn't be able to live with himself if he announces Williams' hiring and then Brown becomes available and joins another club. There's no harm waiting, except possibly to Williams' psyche. Williams' head-coaching contract expires Aug. 1, then his assistant's contract kicks in."

PHilly let Brown go to detroit while under contract and fired Rick Carlisle after winning 50 games!

They are not so innocent and would be rude to not let larry do what he wants.

Pistons got a ring and another 7 games series to the finals which is all so profitable!

Is it suggesting that the Knicks don't want to fire Herb because they want to keep him as an assitant coach? That's really interesting. Wouldn't it be f'd up if they ended up hiring Herb's supposed assistant Westphal to be the head coach, and Herb had to stay here to assist?
