I still have to figure out the divisions, so I am talking about the east.
If Sweetney is given significant minutes and averages a double double, which I think he has the potential to do, then I think we'll be a very solid team, and it won't be necessary to trade for another Big Man down the road. But if he comes into camp overweight and continues to struggle....not good.
If Sweetney.... Now that's A BIG IF! (Get it?) Even if he does average a double-double...like Kurt Thomas did last year, how do we become so good all of a sudden?
As a matter of fact, someone has to step into Sweetney's shoes at backup too! Sweetney is not a "big man" in the sense of a center or forward who anchors an entire front line.
depends how well Sweetney performs. another move might not be necessary.
Let's assume sweetney is great. This front line still needs a lot of work, unless all the big players become 50-75% better at the same time.
The only teams "clearly" better than the knx are the Pacers and the Pistons.
Not counting any deals that "might happen", my list of "clearly better" teams than the Knicks as configured:

Right now we are messing with Milwuakee, Orlando, Atlanta, and Charlotte. But the offseason is still young. We have to bolster our front line.
