84. When can't a player be traded? Can players be given "no-trade" clauses in their contracts?
For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the player is being traded in combination with other players.
However, the team is free to trade the player by himself (not packaged with other players) immediately

I don't think this has to do with the you can't trade for 60 days or something like that after you just traded unless you trade within 48 hours after the first trade.

I think thats why the whole we could have traded Q for Kwame story in the papers just shows how incompetent a lot of they NBA beat writers are.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

No read it again I had to post more. They were actually right about that.

But on another note they traded Caron and a #1 for Kwame, we would have had to probably give up both picks next year and I am not sure we could have even offered our first first rounder. I never would have wanted us to do it anyway, and I like Kwame, but that makes it too lop-sided.

Plus I doubt they wanted to have to see him 6 times a year if he does blossom. I think that factors in heavily.
